Would like some advice on engine detailing

Did my first engine yesterday.

The only issue I had was removing the heavy caked on grease deposits all over the place. For one of the spot I had to apply Meguiar's Super Degreaser diluted 4:1 5 times (and that is with heavy agitation with a brush each time) and it still wasn't completelly clean.

I switched to steam thinking the heat would melt that stuff away. It did not even put a dent in it. I gave up after 10 minutes.

I then switched to a foam pad with APC+ diluted 10:1 (ya I know that the higher concentration would have worked better but I had none ready). And after 2 applications and rinse it finally came up clean.

For the rest of the engine, super degreaser worked really well, it came out sparkling after a single application.

I got everything tooken off the engine, the shaker and airduct. I was about to start and realize something bout the air duct that goes into the shaker base. What can I use to clean it.? it made of material like a dryer vent hose. its very fragile its the original part. I don't want to damage it or anything. Has overspray that sat on it for yrs and was wanting ot get that off too. What be good to use to get the over spray off the edging of the fenders? posted some pics on the photobucket to show.

got some advice from local auto paint and body repair supplier named auto color and equipment. They recommended me to use a spray cleaner called wizards power clean and sprayway orange citrus crazy cleaner. Has anyone tried these two products? few guys there said they used it on their own vehicles seen one which was a 68 firebird was very nice
