Would you have this fixed? Wait??

I second, or third the notion that a "clean Carfax " means much of anything. I just bought a car that had a clean Carfax, but clearly had hail damage. A Carfax does not make up for a hands on inspection. It may be a good starting point, but that's all.

So went to the dealer today...

Went to service dept first to see "my service writer", (gave her some detail supplies last time). Showed her the problems, she showed me where it was starting at top of vents as well. She then got service manager to show him, he noted it and directed us to body shop.

She would only speak to body shop manager. Showed him the problems and made a point of telling him how particular I am...

He said the correct way of doing it was to remove both panels, then vents, prep panels, pain, let cure, then replace the vents, then replace the panels on car. He said the car won't be any where near paint booth to avoid overspray.

He told me He wanted it for at least 5 days to make sure it's done properly.

He wrote in big letters across work order DO NOT WASH :D

He had to order consumables and clips etc and is pretty well booked...... So appointment made for Sept 12.

Awesome! I don't think it could have gone any better on the front side. Glad to hear they're interested in taking care of you the right way. :dblthumb2:

If I may be so bold:

I sure that all 22,928 C7 ZO6 owners,
from around the world, are also hoping
the upcoming repairs on your ZO6 turns
out better'n new!!

I know I am.

What's being done, if anything, to prevent it from chipping again?

I may put something under vent edges when I get it back. Shop manager thinks it was how the vents were applied in first place.

Things I've read.... "front quarter panel".......Uh, no such thing. It's a front fender or a rear quarter. And the last time I saw a plastic corrode......hmmmm. Never.

any vehicle defect repairs

Also:
There is the below listed ANTI-CORROSION
provision which, I suppose, GM is proud to
offer to C7 Corvette owners/leasees:
Hmmmmmmm

If I see rust there, I will demand a buy back.......
Ron...

Looks like facetiousness/tongue-in-cheekness
is Delphic for some people.

~Bob

Corvettes are fiberglass, where do you
think you might see rust?

Wow

It's gotta be in my delivery............

Well, dropped it off today...... Having mixed feelings. IMHO this will be very tough to get the panel alignment correct.

Told em, if it ain't perfect, don't try to give it to me..... Fix it right.

As a side not, there was a white z06 vert in for service (regular service not paint/body), it had the same problems at the front vents as mine. I showed the service writer.
