I've heard about this on another forum. They say that once a scratch has been repaired in an area, if another scratch is introduced there, it will not be able to be repaired. So it would probably be a long time till they make this fairly practical.

I read that on another forum. It only can heal itself in one spot once. We will still be needed to clean cars :D.

Great, but it can only repair itself once. How much extra will that add to the price for a one time repair? I'd rather have regular paint. Even Infiniti's new paint only lasts 3 years. So after that will the sticky clear coat still be a pain in the a** to detail?

Nissan does infact use something similar on its higher end Infiniti line. Not sure the models but made headlines several years back !

G37(coupe and sedan), EX35 and FX. It is only good for 3 years, then slowly stops working. Does that mean it finally hardens? I know it is a pain to detail while it is sticky. I guess 3 years from now we'll see if you can detail it.

but even if it healed itself and it was a deep scratch wouldnt it still need paint right there?

Wow! Next time I go out for shrimp and crab legs, I'm gonna bring the shells home, set the blender to liquify, and pour it into my bottle of NXT!

I can see it now: Meguiars NXT 2.0. NOW with crab chitosan!

LOL boosted with poli-chitos.

ehh-the hacks at the dealer lot will just buff off the coating during prep and then sell the car where the delivery guy will instruct the customer to NEVER BUFF THE CAR.

am I off here???
