Hi all. I just sold my grey car and bought a black car. I was using Ultima Paint Guard Plus for the grey car and was happy with the results. Any suggestions for a wipe-on-walk-away sealant, other than the Ultima, that works well with dark colors? It has to be a WOWA, as I do not want to do any buffing. Thanks in advance!

Like to know how many months did you get out of the Ultima sealant?

I've never used Blackfire but have used the Opti-Seal as I mentioned above. It applies like a coating in that high spots show up after 20 seconds or so that you can see which I personally like. It also provides excellent gloss and good durability.

I've heard good things about the Blackfire though, I'll have to try it. I've used their Deep Gloss Spritz Sealant though and I like it but it's not WOWA.

Opti-Seal...is too easy to use and one bottle will go a LONGGGG way.

but Gloss-Coat is almost as easy and for durability that reaches past a year (up to two, according to them), i'd consider it if i were you. it's wild stuff, soo slick.

Another vote for Blackfire. So easy to apply and like most BF products, alittle goes along way.

I scored mine on BOGO.

Whats wrong with Ultima? It goes on clear and drys clear so it would work just fine on dark cars. Compound and Polish is the way to make your paint look better, to pop or deepen or make the metallic pop. I my self have never been able to see a difference in clear waxes/sealants. Rejex, Ultima, Wolfgang 3.0, Finish Kare 218, all look the same to me on my dark grey Challenger.

I bet you apply Ultima and a couple of other WOWA sealants and you won't see a difference.

That is hard to say. Because it is so easy to apply, I would put it on every couple of months from about April through November. It would then last the Michigan winter from December through March. It would still bead water and held its shine very well once winter broke. The car was garage kept at night and ONR washed through the winter.

I am not sure.
I bought my bottle about 1.5 - 2 years ago.
When did they update the formula?
It's been since then.

The "new formula" is said to be water-based;
and has a red sticker on the front of the bottle.
