I have hired a graphic designer and we are working on creating a wrap for my Dodge Caravan.

So far I have received a first draft and it wasn't all what I wanted. Gave him some tips on things I liked and info I wanted on the van.

If you have any experience designing or having a wrap designed for you, do you have any tips for me?

What would you consider most important in the design or message on the van?

What do you like in terms of design? Do you think a picture is important? Do you consider the company logo to be most important? List of services? If you had to have it down, what would you focus on?

Do you have a wrap on your vehicle? If so can you post a picture?

Never have been more excited and nervous about spending 3,000$ LOL

I'm excited for you haha!
As a fellow Quebecois, I'd love to see the result.

For design, especially on something that will be moving a lot, such as your van. You want your name and contact information to be very clear, visible, and easy to read from others on the road, or on the sidewalk as you drive by. I am a fan of clean and non busy designs for this reason. List of services are not that necessary as that could be found on your website, that people would be directed to. My main goal, would be to push people to my website and social media pages. I have seen a few local companies place large QR codes on their vehicles that people can snap a picture on their smartphones and be directed to their website or social media page.

Whatever you decide to go with, please post some pictures!

Why are you gonna wrap it,are you concealing dents and scratches.

Why not just letter it and save 3k.you can get your message across with out it.3k is kinda on the high side.my acct just wrapped a Chevy van for 1400 3m material. He covered everything in h&r tax services and I painted the bumpers and wheels green to match. The van was trashed that's why he did it.

Only reason I'm doing wraps too. My escapades nice from far away but far from nice. Trailer ain't to bad but still need some concealment as well.

If you got a good looking van id get a nice vinyl job done for a fraction! But I can understand the want for a full wrap as well!

I get it and understand .for 3k they should come up with a real wow factor and let them become creative minds and help him out.If I'm spending 3k blow me out of the water.

I hate the new forum, just lost a very long message I posted trying to include an image :(

Ok so not gonna retype everyting ;(

Overall. Went to a wrap because it's a publicity expense that will last a few years so I don't mind paying twice what it would cost for a simple lettering job.

We are still working on the design and there are a lot of the changes I suggested that are not included in the current draft I have. If you have suggestions and comments, they are welcome, still have 3 days to work on this.

Wow still can't upload anything, very disapointing :(

Here it is from my website, sorry about image sizes:

Just keep it simple for everyone to understand what you do.my van is covered in lettering and I used asterisk stars to pin point the services I provide.on both sides of the van I have scratch removal, this draws attention and gets people interested.also it's a money maker one long scratch that you can either remove or lighten up you can charge 100.00 and be done in 40 minutes.another is deep leather cleaning some people may not care for the outside and just like the interior clean.and lastly note the simplicity and conveince of you coming to them and list your coverage area.Nice business cards like a full menu glossy and colorful says a lot about your business.good luck and don't be rushed 3 k is a lot of money .

A picture is worth a 1000 words ;)

$3k for a custom printed wrap sounds about right, i helped with a $10k printed wraps on a sprinter van. as GSXR said, keep it simple, the easier it is to read the more people will read it!

Entering the final phase of the design. Here are the latest updates:

This is pretty much the final design. Anything you would change? What do you think?

Looks good and you gave me a idea.I have a transit where the windows are suppose to be in the back and sides I will wrap that in a digital photo of some high end classics and dd.got a price of 300.00

Got my van from the Print Shop today. Took over a month from start to finish, mainly due to an unqualified graphic artist I hired through Guru.com :(

Total cost for design and installation was 1333,00$, it should have been higher but the artist I hired could not make the full wrap I wanted, so after 3 weeks of wasting time going back and forth between him and and the print shop I fired him and asked the print shop to do a simple layout of my logo on the Windows and phone number and website on the body. So instead of costing 3K the price went down to 1K. So there is that, doesn't look as good as a full wrap but at least my van is now an ad billboard for me.
