WTF FedEx?!

3. Was the package ground? If so sorry to inform you but since its the busy holiday rush they sometimes leave ground for last if they are overwhelmed by priority shipements.

This is exactly correct. I work for a performance parts company and our UPS guy said that if you ship ground and someone else ships priority (or any level above you) then they get first priority(no pun intended). So you have to pay for at least 3 day to basically guarantee 3 day. So typically around the holidays a lot of people will pay for the quicker shipping and 'bump' the ground shipping folks.

Typically, this only happens during Christmas time and any other time of the year you are fine.
