It's been a long time since my last post but I have a question I like your opinions on.

After reading the posts about the newer XMT 360 product I just had to order some to try. I have Lake Country pads(non CCS) in orange, white, & gray, I was wondering if I should use the white or orange pad. The car is my red 2007 Honda CRV that we purchased in June 2007, when we bought the car the dealer used the Auto Butler System(no charge) on it as they do on all their new cars. I didn't like the look of the car so I used Wolfgang paint cleaner & sealant but noticed there are some areas that have swirling(minor) that I think was caused by the Auto Butler brushes.

Game plan:

1. Wash, DP soap with foam gun
2. Clay
3. XMT 360
4. Top with DP Surface Shield Sealant for added durability

Would the white pad be sufficiant? I would like to avoid the orange pad to be less harsh to the clear coat.

Thanks in advance,
Bob

I recommend starting with the white pad. you'd be surprised at the results. Many users here have had great success with using a orange pad with little to no hazing. I myself had hazing issues, although the application was on my black car. In which case you see everything. If you don't have very much a swirl problem I would go with the white pad.

I agree with Mike, try the white pad first, you'll be surprised. I'd also consider getting some LC green pads, they work awesome with AIO products like 360 and Poli-Seal.

Thanks for the quick answews Mike & trlblazer I'll do the whole car with the white pad, the swirling is really minor.

Mike thanks for the pad (green) tip I may have to call Meghan and add that to my order.

Your welcome and trlblazer left the tip about the green pad.

I don't really know anything about the CCS pads, I use Edge pads myself.

i use green and orange edge pads and get no hazing and great results

Use the white polishing pad. That's what I used with great success with the 360.

If you're getting hazing while using 360 then you arent using enough polish.

I use the GREEN CCS Pad, but I have also used the Orange with no ill effects and if there is no real marks that you want to remove then using the white merely to polish is ideal!!!

Thanks everyone, I'll use the white pad but on my next order I'll add a few green pads.

What speed are u guys using the white pad and XMT 360 on? PC is what im using.

XMT Series

I do not have the XMT 360 ,which I probably should have bought instead of the interm.swirl remover. I have always used a rotory and I think the products I have break down to fast.Someone please correct me if I'm wrong. The next time I purchase it will be the 360.I do like the free pad that came with it. I also use the pad with Menzerna, and a rotory with great results, on
black too! Im the MAN

XMT does break down too fast for a rotary. Bags, work 360 on speed 5.

I used our white CCS pad on a work truck that was going to auction and hasnet been cleaned in years. It looked very good after I finished.

if you dont let it break down will it leave marring?

Don't worry, it breaks down VERY quickly, not like regular polishes.

The abrasives are ultra fine, VERY slim chance of leaving any marring. Like I said, if you're having issues then its probably because you arent using enough.
