Hey guys. I did a quick video comparing XMT 360 and Meg's D151 PRC. These are 2 great All-In-One (AIO) products. Both are easy to use and can give great results in only one step.

I plan to update this thread periodically and see which product lasts the longest.

Feel free to share your experiences, pictures, videos, questions or opinions with either of these products in the comments section. Thanks for looking!

Nice comparison video Nicholas!

I've always liked Meguiar's D151 and use it with both my rotary and dual action polishers. For some reason I achieve better results using a rotary and foam pad. I'm not sure if the abrasive is designed for both or possibly the way I use it...

Either way it works but now it looks like I may order a sample of Pinnacle's XMT 360...:props:

Interesting! Thanks for taking the time to share:)

Looking forward to using the 151 I just purchased. Did you follow up with any lighter pads after the orange?

Cool! I was wondering if you were doing a review or not. I still haven't had a chance to try the D151 yet. Been too busy with "domestic" duties

Thank you for the review & video. :props:

Interesting to see how quicker 360 sheds water. Look wise, which do you prefer?

I have a 16oz sample of D151 which I use periodically (with a polishing pal) to remove minor scratches. It does an excellent job on the soft Subaru paint.

Nice product comparison...Good job!! :dblthumb2:

Thank you! Let me know if there is anything else you would like to see in this comparison!

Thanks Bobby! I really like D151 with a rotary too. Although... even with a finishing pad I've seen it leave holograms so I always finish out with a DA for the perfect shine!

The XMT 360 doesn't seem to have as much correction ability as D151 but for really slight swirl marks or type 1-2 water spots it does a great job.

For this test I used only 1 pad, 1-step for each product. D151 was worked in 2 heavy passes and 1 light pass. XMT 360 worked for about 3 heavy passes and 2 light passes. This is due to the fact that XMT 360 uses diminishing abrasives that are supposed to leave almost no residue to wipe away.

I initially intended to work them both the same amount of time but XMT, due to its abrasive technology, requires it to be worked longer than D151 (which uses SMAT abrasive tech).

Thanks again for the sample!!! You rock! :dblthumb2:

Thanks for looking! To me they both look exactly the same. I could not tell the difference at all when I was finished. The only time I can see a difference between the two is when there is water on the paint.

Subscribed!

Thanks! Stay tuned for ongoing updates!

Nice video Nick. Looking forward to the updates as I use D151 a lot and have had great success with it.

Nice video and perspective Nick.

Any idea why the water was sheeting as a 90 degree angle to the direction the vehicle was facing? Was the car somewhat leaning in that direction?

I have used XMT360, and perhaps that is one product that is better off used without fully priming the pad. I use that almost exclusively on my dad's car.

Thanks! I too have had good success D151. It's my go to for DD's. I love how it shines up the paint and offers correction with so little effort.

Good catch. My driveway is a pretty steep grade and the hood of the truck sits almost flat when it's parked like that. Because of the angle the water sort of sheets off to the sides instead of down the front like normal.

Thanks!

This was my first time playing with XMT360. I will have to check out how it performs without priming the pad. Are you able to get it to the magical "no buffing required" point without priming the pad?

** Day One Update **

Just wanted to share some better beading shots from this morning. We had some April showers here in Oregon (that have continued all day today) and I was surprised to see a noticeable difference in beading performance between each product.

Here you can sort of see the tape line down the middle of the hood.

As you can see there is a dramatic difference in beading performance even from day one. I'm thinking XMT 360 may have the edge in the durability department... what do you think? Which will outlast the other? Place your bets people!

It's so funny you can absolutely see a "natural" dividing line between the products. This is a much better test compared to the sheeting test. :-)

It's hard to say how durable they both are and based on my recollection this is the first I have seen a side-by-side test with these two products. XMT 360 beads are tighter but that just shows the current state. It's possible 360's protection will degrade faster than D151 so it is still a crapshoot.

Thanks for doing a review on popular AIO products that are mainly used in production detailing Nick.

Sub'd for long term test results.

Never tried XMT, but love D151. I will be using D151 tomorrow. I know the purpose of an AIO is 1 step, but I top it with 476s or 845.

I did a test last fall with xmt 360 and Duragloss 501/601. For each product I used the same type of green pads that I bought on BOGO, 6 inch Lake Country pads I believe. Wash, clayed, iron-x, rinse, then polish. I took some photo's, but I didn't get any photo's of the water action I noticed.

I primed each pad the same way, but I don't really recall the working time of either product. I too noticed faster shedding of water with the XMT 360 vs. Duragloss 501/601. The hood of the car was sprayed immediately after working each half of the hood with product. XMT 360 certainly shed water faster at least at first. However, I did notice with each product that as soon as the water was gone, I'd respray with water, water would drain off, then respray. About 4 cycles in of spraying, letting the water drain off, and then respraying, I noticed that with each consecutive spray of water the shedding ability got slower and slower. That is, it took longer and longer for the water to shed off the hood, and this occured with either product.

It's important to note that this is one use on the hood of one car. I also don't really recall the working characteristics of each product.

I have a question.

The xmt 360 I have is pink in color. Yours looks white for some reason and perhaps it looks that way because of the lighting next to that orange pad. Then again, it could be my monitor. Was your sample product white, or was it pink in color? It should be pink and I assume yours sample was pink too, but it doesn't hurt to ask and be certain.
