I'm always on the lookout for a great before/after project, and this week it was an old Dodge Raider. I wanted to see what XMT2 would do for nasty oxidation, so I went at it with an Orange Edge pad and lots of elbow grease. Here are some nice shots of the roof of the truck. The XMT2 cut through the oxidation like butter. Obviously when paint is that damaged there is no way to restore it to perfect shape, but this truck looked like it had been repainted by the time I got done with it. Normally I wouldn't have used a polish like XMT on oxidation, but I was curious how well it would work and what the results would be like. I must say that I'm pleased.

That is probably the single biggest turnaround I've seen so far, WOW!

wow thats amazing... Looks Great! imagine what XMT 3 would do!

XMT3 probably wouldn't have done any better. It would sort of be like using a canon to kill a mosquito, ya know? I'm curious what XMT1 would have done, but I figured I'd go for something I was fairly sure would work. :)

The really nice thing about it was in how easy the product was to buff off. Even when I use great oxidation removal products like AIO or 4* 4-40 it tends to be difficult to rub the oxidation loaded product off the paint. With XMT2 it was easy to buff it off. My towels didn't even get that black. My pad sure did, but the towels were fine.

After I cleaned off the oxidation with the XMT2 I decided to try out the Finishing Glaze on it to see what that would do. I was surprised to get even more black on the pad, but the finish was outstanding. I should have taken before pictures of the whole truck, but based on the condition of the roof, I think you can get the idea of what the rest of it looked like. This is probably one of the more impressive transformations I have seen with oxidation. XMT is an awesome product line!

Sorry for the black paint pictures in the shade. I would have rather gotten it out in the sun, but it was pretty much blocked in.

That is an amazing difference. I would never had thought it possible.:applause:

Wow!!! It looks beautiful!! You did an amazing job!! i agree with you that the XMT line is fantastic!! I'll be using it tomorrow on a black VW bug that has some oxidation and lots of swirls! I can't waiit to give the XMT 3 a go. :)

The nice thing about working on this type of oxidation is that any swirls that might be on the paint pretty much get removed with the oxidation. I guess that is the one good thing about single stage paint jobs, eh? :)

Man...same great turnaround as your Toyota HOF oxidation removal with AIO :applause: :applause: :applause:

Just like on that one, I can't take too much credit here. It was the products and the pads that did all the work. I actually had to switch pads halfway through it because my Edge 2000 orange pad sort of had a blow out. I had the same thing happen to my green pad the night before, so it looks like they don't last forever afterall. Anyway, I finished the job with a red Meguiar's pad. It actually seemed to work a little better because I was able to get into some tighter areas where the body curved a bit. What didn't come off with the PC and pads was able to be rubbed out with some product on a microfiber. The job too way longer than I thought it would. I had about 4 hours into it by the time I was done. I only priced it as a 3 hour job, so I ate it a little, but I got good pictures out of it so it was worth it. :)

very nice. it seems there is finally a safe and powerful product to use with the pc that simply gives results. Very nice.
