Ya Never Know: BMW Z4 Black (again)

:righton: Thats not just any lift. Thats a Snap-on lift. I wanted one for my garage, but they aren't cheap at all. The price that I was qouted including install was about the same as one of those shop 4 post lifts.:mad: LOL if you got one, I would move into your house. Garage heater, lift, metabo, cyclo...All you need is a fridge and a microwave and you could live in there.

Thanks for the info Toto, I got a question for you with regards to the lift. How safe is it? Any chance of the vehicle tiping over? There are points on the vehicle to lift from have you ever had a vehicle that was difficult to find a point to lift (I hope this question makes sense to you)?. I've seen one at a store here but I didn't see it being operated...may have to go back and take a look at it again.

Hope you don'g mind the questions.

lol...yea I know what you mean about the Snap-on lift and the price...not too bad though but I need to get a different garage if I dice to purchase it. If I do go a head and purchase it I'll purchase the four post lifts becuase I could park a vehicle underneath. Oh the garage is going to look sweet when I'm done with it, I'm painting it now....soon I'll be moving on to the floor.

hahaha my wife says I live in the garage already hahaha oh yea bought a nice stereo for the garage too...I was desperatly needing a boom box

Finally finished this little black car. What a chore! Thought it would be relatively easy, but the dealer wanted the paint "just right". Here's some shots of the car after using a wool pad and compound. I'm also learning that after compounding a car, wash it with the pressure washer to remove any compound dust. That's been a problem because any leftover dust just gets added to the glazing process. It's an extra step, but the finish came out flawless!

Here's a shot after washing and you can see the wool pad swirls very visibly. I've seen these at dealership details where they actually stop at this stage and consider it done.

The depth of black is evident in this door panel

Quickie outdoor shot....we had to hurry and finish the interior and used the lift to get a decent working height on this Z car...otherwise it's so low to the ground, I'll miss something

My personal favorite indoor shot of the hood. Double deep black!

See you folks later. I'm off to Austin Texas for my other job during the week.

Toto

Awesome job Toto.
I've seen them at dealership like that too. LOL!
Have a safe trip.

Your favorite pic reflection was so clear that it didn't even look like a car was there. That's beautiful.

Toto

If you're in Austin, TX, I'll be seeing you around Toto!!! Watch out for a big black Dodge in your rear view mirror!!!

Well done Toto, the paint on that vehicle looks like liquid...wow. Grea job Toto and thanks for sharing the swirl marks left with the wool pad. I can't beleave some dealers would even consider a vehicle done after that....but I too have seen vehicles left like that.

Thanks for sharing and have a safe trip.

P1et: I doubt if I'll even see much of Austin: I go from the airport to the hotel and setup our company booth for a conference...then I work at the doggone booth until the end of the conference...then back to the airport and go home. I get to have the same kind of fun next week at Nashville for the American Jail Association conference. UGH!

See Ya later folks

lol my tires are way worse... guess i gotta stop the driftos lol

EDIT: just read the rest of the thread, you really turned that thing around!
