So today I detailed this rare, 2017 Camaro ZL1. It has under 10k on clock, is garaged sometimes but sits outside alot, so it always needs attention. In the end it came out nice but has water spots and grit in the top surfaces. I used Bilt-Hamber Karrosol and I'm sure it helped, next time around it's getting a Chem/Mech decon...for sure
️
I started with the tires & wheels, as always and it's very rewarding, as you'll see in the pics! The brake dust is crazy with this car, so all hands on deck, even had 2 extra brushes with me, LOL!
I used Griot's Garage Tire/Wheel/Mat Cleaner for the tires, a foaming product, Bilt-Hamber Karrosol for the rims and P&S Brake Buster to "help things along". These 3, along with 5 different brushes, made quick work of the nasty rims...look at that pool of sh!t that rinsed off
Next up was the pre-wash w/ my IK Foam Pro 12 filled w/ 4 oz of CarPro Descale and 3 oz of Bilt-Hamber Touchless, along with a gallon of water. I went around the car, tires & wheels and wells twice and let dwell and rinsed off. Btw, I wad using a Ryobi power washer for all my duties today, pretty nice equipment
Next was the 2BM and for this it was 1.5 oz of Bilt-Hamber AutoWash, a very concentrated carwash, one of the best I've ever used...if not THEE best!! I moved along the car effortlessly, even went over the tires & wheels again too. Once rinsed down I grabbed Gyeon WetCoat and sprayed the rims with it and rinsed it down, came out great...as usual
I used my mini Master Blaster to dry the tires & wheels, mirrors and grill area, what a life saver this tool is
At this point I put my 1st coat of Mr. Cartoon Tire Coat on the ZL1's Michelins because I was about to move onto the LSP...Nv Jet. I applied Nv Jet with a cotton applicator and removed with a 350 GSM Eagle edgeless, effortless and the gloss is SO NICE with Nv Jet
The last thing I did was add a 2nd coat of TW Mr. Cartoon Tire Coat and used Griot's Garage Waterless Wash to clean up the door jams and I was done! I think I spent about 3-3.5 hrs on the car, taking 2 breaks for some pop (soda for those not from Detroit or Chicago
)
Thanks for looking and I hope you enjoy the pics of the wheel cleaning process, it's just SO REWARDING, take care
