Yellow Road paint on 2010 Silverado HD

Hey Y'all

I got a 2010 Chevy Silverado HD RED with tiny yellow specs all over I would say 98% of people would not see them but I do.

Usually I can pop a turd like this off with the great old Thumb nail but these things are stuck like chuck.
I used a new razor blade on the glass but I will not attempt this on the paint.

I have even tried {after searching for them} my Teflon razor blades, no luck.

I am miffed @ the amount of chips in this paint.

I have had success with enamel paint reducer. Doesn't effect effect the poly clear....
 
First I see its your first post, :welcome:.

Second, from what I understand it sounds like you have yellow road striping paint on your Chevy(?).

I've dealt with this a few times at the dealership I work at. What I found that works is Diamondite Spray Clay w/ Sponge(*). I spray it on the road paint (you should instantly see the road paint run), I then follow with a light rubbing with the sponge and repeat, if needed (most of the time it is not).

*I should also mention I didn't have the sponge Diamondite sells with the spray, but a Adams VRT Super Block Dressing Applicator. Just search Adams site or google the above product.

WOW! that was a fast response time.

I have been here maybe just reading & looking around for years I just change my e mail & I think it reset my post count EH who cares?

I normally would post a picture but I cant really get it with my POS camera they are the size of fly Chit.

Can you tell me if this a water bourn paint or VOC base coat clear coat?

This is a new customers truck & what a pig sty it was I had to scrub the front seats 3 times!

I will try some enamel reducer & if not plan "B" A air chisel J/K

My 25+ years detailing mostly Big power boats is a old school approach thou I never pass up a opportunity to try new products.

Now getting older & more out of shape than ever I am more receptive to less elbow grease & more chemical warfare { Elbow grease always works thou.

I don't believe there are any waterborne clears on the market yet, just base coats. Waterborne base coats are usually cleared with polyurethane.

I had some touch up work done on my 2010 Silverado and it was cleared with poly...
 
I know if u use solvent prior to claying, it makes the dots round and less jagged which makes harder/impossible to remove the over spray with clay. I usually start with aggressive clay by automagic, get off what I can with that,then switch to solvent x to get the remainder.
