Yet another Collinite 845 question thread

I would wait a couple of weeks until pollen season is over and apply 845 again. In the meantime, give the car a good wash each week. Maybe use some Megs UQW after washing to save what you have.

In my past experience, the Collinite will survive it, but it will be greatly diminished compared to 845 that isn't exposed to it.

You actually get a thin, more uniform coat using a DA compared to applying it by hand.
I tried both and I find it easier to remove after applying it with a DA, a lot easier IMO!

Fair enough. I've come to the conclusion that I have always put it on too thin due to hand application and the limited durability I've experienced.

But still... The cure time and moisture exposure? If I apply it at, say, 9am and it sits out all day into night, it still cures, right?

And sometimes I see the hazing that so many talk about. I have seen it before but only when it applied it within a few hours of dark or when I removed it before it hazed...

The pollen kills the wax? This makes perfect sense! I had this happen about a month ago. Put down a nice coat of Meguiar's D151, then pollen, then 4" inches of rain, and wax was gone. Never thought it was the pollen, just poor application or wax gone bad. Now we've had less pollen and it's lasting longer.

Sorry to derail slightly, but it makes perfect sense to me now!
