Interested in some opinions about products to recommend for maintaining a vehicle that was just coated with Optimum Gloss-Coat. Your "two cents" is appreciated...

Over the weekend I helped my neighbor do a two-step correction on his new (to him) 2011 Buick Lucerne. The car is White Diamond Tri-Coat in color. We coated the finished product with Gloss-Coat and he is very happy with the results. This was my first time using a coating, and as many have indicated in reviews Gloss-Coat is extremely user-friendly to apply. I was also happy with how it turned out and will look forward to using Gloss-Coat again in the future.

He is now interested in obtaining a few products including micro fiber towels, car wash soap, etc. to maintain the vehicle and all of the hard work that was done to get it looking sharp. I'm fine with helping him pick out appropriate towels, etc. but I would like some advice about which shampoo and perhaps some type of "booster" product to recommend to him. He is more of a 2BM wash type of person, and is very meticulous with his vehicles and tools, etc.

Two that come to mind are PBL Diamond Coating Shampoo and PBL Diamond Coating Booster. Have you had any experience with these products over Optimum Gloss-Coat?

Optimum Car Wash also seems to have a good reputation, and presumably would have synergistic compatibility with their coating product(s). Would Optimum Car Wash and their spray-on wax be better choices than the PBL coating products?

TIA for your feedback,
Al

Diamond Coating shampoo is the most Glossy shampoo I ever use. It's glossy is incomparable by any leading shampoo. The problem is that it is so darn expensive and the ratio that they provide do not provide enough sud and lubricate for you through out the wash, so you need to double dose.

And with that price, just forget it. I will never buy them again eventhough I love it so much. May be once I become a millionaire I will return to it.

Your post reminded me about this one which has a response from Yvan Lacroix from Optimum.

Optimum car Wash would be a good choice as far as a wash. I like the PBL coating booster and it would work very well with Gloss Coat. Another option is Optimum Instant Detailer & Gloss if he is looking for a drying aid.

Mr BadgerRivFan,

Optimum Gloss-Coat + Optimum Car Wash + Optimum Car Wax is a formidable combination, it just works. In My Opinion they're also very inexpensive for what you get.

Pinnacle Black Label products are impressive in their own right, but since you've chosen Gloss-Coat there is little logical reason to invest in alternate Shampoos and top coat sealants/boosters.

And by 'logical reason' I mean it comes down to personal choice.

Using Black Label Shampoo and Coating Booster certainly wont 'hurt' Gloss-Coat.

Thank you zx 10r Elle, Guz, and Valky for your replies. Much appreciated.

I think we'll probably go with Optimum Car Wash, Optimum Instant Detailer as a drying aid, and the PBL Diamond Coating Booster as a way to periodically touch up the Gloss-Coat.

Thanks for the help guys!
