Your favorite Car Wash Soap

The honeydew snow foam is currently what i am using. I have used better, but it's not a bad soap. I would probably not get another gallon. Just better choices for a foam gun. I found it a bit lacking in the foam area and clinging to the paint.

Duragloss 902. $34/128 oz or $3.76/oz.

I use maybe 4-6 oz per wash in my foam gun on the 4th proportioner setting.

Love the results.

What do you like about it ?

How do you feel it handles water spotting issues on hot days ?

I have a small bottle of it. It seems like nice soap. Just not enough volume of uses to get a grasp on how it handles washing in the heat.

Gosh, favorite? Im not sure I have one. I certainly like some better for foam cannon and others better for a strip wash VS coated car wash.

CG Citrus Wash & Gloss
Adams car shampoo
CG Honeydew
Meguiars D111

Megs Hyper seems to be the AG favorite based on what I'm seeing here. I'll have to try it. I've always used Meg Gold Class or GG Brilliant. Since I've used TW Power-Wash, at a higher pH level, I've noticed better cleaning, at the cost of lightly degrading the protection on my car I assume.

Ducksfan, trust me...it sees heat and direct sun in Tampa but i've never had it spot or streak after drying.

I should clarify. I always keep ALL sides wet when I'm washing i.e. no panel dries. I then use the drip method for every customer with an LSP.

I like how it leaves nothing behind. Just clean paint.

It's actually around 27 cents an ounce.
When I saw $3.76 an ounce and you use 4-6 ounces you'd be almost 20 bucks a wash. Uffda.
That's a good price BTW

Meguiars Gold Class must’ve changed its formula in the last 20 years since I’ve used it. Back then it couldn’t clean worth a damn let alone was slippery. Frankly it was one of the worst soaps I ever used. I sure hope times have changed for the better

When I first started using it, I had never tried anything other than the cheap Blue Choral stuff found on the shelves at parts stores. Compared to that, Gold Class is amazing. However, once I started trying other brands and products I too realized it wasn't very good. The thick consistency made it hard to mix up, it didn't clean very well, and it was hard to rinse off no matter what dilution you used. I moved on to other products over the last 15~20 years and every one of them has been a better product.

My two favorites are Optimum Car Wash and Meguiars Hyperwash. I really like CarPro Reset too, but it's just too expensive.

Just ordered Hyper Wash. Going to try it based on favorable opinions I keep reading.

Hands down Duragloss 902! I have tried several in my time and none have I liked as much as Duragloss. Not to mention its a lot less expensive than some "exotic" shampoo's. It works excellent with a foam cannon as well if you are into that.

Optimum Car Wash for me. It checks all the boxes.

* Price ($29.99 for a gallon)
* Smell (smells like blueberries)
* Suds (they last forever - no worries about going flat)
* Cleaning ability (I’ve even been able to remove light tar with this soap)
* Rinses easily
* No soap scum if it dries on the paint
* Lots of lubricity

Pinnacle Bodywork Shampoo is another favorite, but pricey unless you can pick it up during a sale.

That’s the next soap on my list. How strong is the smell? I like 3D pink but the scent is almost non existent while using it. While it’s not an important part of soaps performance, I do enjoy the scents.

Always heard OPC was great.

Yeah thanks. I just wanted to hear from someone who uses it regularly.

I bought a 16oz bottle of it a long time ago. I used about 2/3 of it and just put it on the shelf. Recently I used up a gallon of 3D Pink (A pretty decent soap) and decided to finish up some left overs before buying more. I've had two washes with it in 105 weather and it seemed to work really well. Only enough left for one more wash. Didn't want to buy a gallon and find out it's not as good as it appeared.
