Hey all,

So I'm looking for a spray wax (either Synthetic or Carnauba) which can be used in direct sunlight.

Wonder what everyone's favorite is, and why.

I already know spray waxes only last a few weeks in terms of protection... I plan on using WGDGPS 3.0 as my base sealant, and keep a simple wax on it every 2 weeks.

Meguiars express wax. Darren of Auto fetish detailing has a video of him praising Express wax. I had two gallons and am down to one. Smells good.

I use Optimum Spray Wax out in the sun on a weekly basis.

Menzerna endless shine.Problem free in the blazing sun and hot sheet metal.

i've used ech20 (10:1) in the direct (HOT) sun and no streaks or problems. fantastic product...

Wolfgang Deep Gloss Spritz Sealant

One of the number one reasons I love it is because I have been able to use it in direct sunlight with no issues.

Sonax Spritz and Meguiars Ultimate Quik Wax work well for me in bright sunlight

Another vote for D156. Bonus is that it works equally well on pretty much every exterior surface; glass, plastic, paint, faux-chrome trim, etc.

It's really a great product.

My vote is for UQW. (D156)

Btw, I'm more than a little disappointed that the small 6 oz sized bottles of UQW have now been discontinued at AG.
They were a steal of a deal, so I can't say I am totally shocked to see them go away.
I really liked the scent of UQW over D156, but it looks like this will finally force me over to D156 fully now.

Those 6 oz bottles were priced less per oz than the gallon sized bottles of D156, so it's not wonder they were done away with.

it was a great deal that flew under the radar for a while, but looks like it's finally been killed off.

Oh well, It was nice while it lasted.

I have a lot of different spray wax products and I try to like them all, but end up reaching for Meguiar's D156 nine times out of ten. The product just works and it doesn't make a fuss about it. A lot of the cars I work on are dark in color and I know for a fact that D156 is going to perform well, even in direct sunlight, and will meet customers' expectations.

Sometimes I have to dilute the product if conditions are extra severe, but after so much use one gets comfortable with how the product responds to heat, humidity, cold, and other variables. Optimum Car Wax is a close second and can be used as a good alternative. The smell of Optimum Car Wax is amazing too.

Because of its predictability, ease of use and great price I really do enjoy using D156. Darren Priest from Auto Fetish turned me on to it and I never looked back. :)

Is Ultimate Quik Wax essentially the same as D156? I really want to use D156, but I don't want to buy a whole gallon as I only maintain my own car, will probably take me 2 years to get through the gallon... or maybe not?

I use D156 on wheels and plastics. I coated both cars in the garage so I don't like to top those. But D156 is a winner for sure! I might be able to send you a 4Oz bottle of it if you would like to test it out. just shoot me a PM

Same product, different scent, I believe.

D156 hands down in direct sun. I have used it on my black 350Z with no streaking.
