Your favorite tire brand?

I'm running the stock Goodyear Eagle F1 super car tires on my 11 Charger R/T. I might look at Conti's next spring when they're ready for replacement.

Tirerack has good reviews. I check that when I need tires. I'm partial to Goodyear because they pay my pension and I get some decent discounts. For the most part, they're good tires too. On my last truck, I was considering 2 brands of replacements. One had a 90+% favorable, and the other had a 90% unfavorable on my tuck model.

Having worked in a tire plant, I know there is a difference in the components for different tire types. It depends on what you want the tires to do. Performance tires usually have a softer tread for better grip on dry roads, but sometimes don't grip on wet roads. And because they are softer, they don't wear as long.

It also varies with the type of vehicle. I had friends with small trucks (S-10, Ranger), say that a certain tire was terrible, and another with a full size Chevy truck say the same tire was good.

I won't say this tire is better than that tire for your vehicle. It depends on how/where you drive, how you maintain tires, and what you expect from the tire. I want decent tread life, all weather traction, good ride, and low road noise.

Keep in mind that tire companies make custom brands as well as their own, and some times, and off-brand tire is the same as the name-brand tire. Fact is, I was buying tires made by Goodyear long before I worked there, they just weren't branded as Goodyear.

I just ordered a set of Nitto Motivo's. They are a high performance all season tire with a 60,000 mile tread life warranty. I average a little more than 30,000 miles per year so we shall see if I get 2 years from them.

Wow, didnt think I'd get such a response. I think a lot of you guys have way nicer cars than my corolla, but I love her just as much hahahaha.

I'm really quite torn though, it seems everyone has their own go to brand! That's what I love about this forum, everyone has such varying ideas and thoughts and shares them!

I have about 1 week left to decide, I'm leaning toward the Hankooks for price and I've read some reviews and people seem to favor them.

Hahah, and Mike those tires would looks great on my corolla, they look bigger then my door! hahaha

Hey BobbyG on your camry, how do those tires feel and have they done good by you?

Toyo's .... great value and most of their lines have really exceeded expectation.

Drive my Accord 60 + round trip and have Michelin Harmony on mine. Due for a replacement and have over 90,000 miles on them. That is not a misprint. All 4 are at 2/32 to 3/32 and will be replaced by winter. Probably with another set of Michelins. Toyo would be my second choice.

Had a set of Hankooks once. Had flat spots on them everytime they were parked for more than one day. Good luck with your choice.

I put hankooks on my wife's 09 sonata DD, I belive they were a 60k tire. We had to have the pro rated at 44K, they were shot. Tire had good traction in the snow and water, they just didn't wear worth a poop. Replaced with firestones that seem to be wearing much better.
