your "go to compound"?

There's some great compounds these days. When I first started it was either m105 or fg400 as the main options. After narrowing it down over the years I have found what I like to work with.

M100- affordable, can cut well and finish out LSP ready. Dust a lot

M101-expensive but cuts better than m100. Dust a lot

FG400- can cut, finish out well, not that much dust.

GG Fast Correcting Cream- affordable, can cut heavy defects, finish LSP ready & low dust

Schnoll 3xxl-Still new to this compound but like it. Expensive but can cut heavy defects. Dust

I tend to use Fast Correcting or FG400 for the dust factor.

GREAT summary of what you've used, KS. Thanks. I, too, tend to use FG 400 (now HCC 400) more often than most but also have a sample of GG Correct Cream i haven't cracked open yet.
 
what do you guys use when you dont want as much cut as m101? what if u want like half that? just use a swirl remover?

other people have told me even the strong compounds dont take off much clear coat??? how many times would u have to use m101 to burn through the clearcoat on a newer car?

Correcting cream is a good compound. I would say it works well for one steps as well

Yeah, but mf cutting power is superiour and i mostly detail 5-15 years old cars that are in bad shape. And even on foam i use compressed air to prevent dusting.

Are you use using Griots One Step Sealant Kevin?

I was just checking it out, claims up to one of protection! Wow, that's a claim for an AIO.

Have you tried the new BOSS Finishing Sealant yet?

I mostly use the rotary after wet sanding and to buff out boats.
Loving my Rupes 15
My Flex 3401 is collecting dust. :(

I'd trade my Flex with someone who has a new GG6 or for another Rupes 15 that someone may not like.
That way it would give someone a chance to get a Flex cheap
The Flex is just too much for my old arms. Lol

Yes, with the Rupes.
I use very little product to allow the product to flash faster.
It does finish down nicely though.

What's really cool about it there's an auto store 2 miles down the road from my shop so it makes it so convenient.
