Your Input Please II - Picture Size

I find 800px wide and under 225kB is big enough for 99.99% of applications.

Larger sizes just means longer load times for people trying to view the thread.

Bill, I would go with XL for standard pictures and H for pictures that require more of a close look.

It looks like XL is the way to go. After a bit more time we should make a thread that gets people that can't see the full XL to change their forum setting to shrink it to fit. Then everyone will be covered.

Btw: XL is what looks good on mine as well.

Bill, what size can this baby handle?

Ohhhhh thanks, Bill! Now I can clearly see that UTTG slightly darkens the tires on a BMW van!!! :D lmfao!!!!!!!

Thanks. :props:

I like H. Shows all the details of the detail.

The H looks like the S on my screen.....

JK! Large and XL look more than perfect on my screen! :xyxthumbs:

I think my final solution will be to post the pictures as XL in my threads, and link to a full sized gallery on my hosting site with huge sized pictures for everyone that enjoys MASSIVE sized pictures.

Sounds like the perfect solution. :xyxthumbs:

Thanks to both CEEDOG and you for even bothering to ask. Shows the quality of people this forum attracts!

Meghan was kind enough to share some of the web-stats for browser resolution with me, and gave the OK to post them here as well.

The top 3 browser resolutions for visitors to AGO (representing 40% of the total viewers) are:
#1:1280x800
#2:1024x768
#3:1366x768

I was a bit surprised that 1024x768 represents such a large portion of visitors, and this gives Mike Phillips' view of using 800px as a standard a lot of merit.

I have decided that based on the active users that provided feedback, whom are also the people getting the most benefit from my posts, that I will begin posting 1024px wide, and offering a link to larger sizes, because there are a lot of people out there like me that enjoy BIG pictures.

I will also work with CEE DOG in writing a preface on how to best configure the forum settings for best viewing experience for articles.

Thanks again everyone!

I am a little late but I always have use 1024 for my pics and after fixing the CP setting XL or XXL are probably my favorites.
