Luckily, I haven't had anything too major happen yet. My worst accident would have to be the time I had a friend over to show him the proper car cleaning methods. When we were done and he was leaving, we forgot to move one of the buckets from in front of his car, and he ran it over, causing my wash mitt inside to fall out onto the driveway and ruining it
Not really that costly, but had a bottle of collinite 845 explode in the kitchen when I was shaking it without holding the lid. That is not fun stuff to clean off floors, wall, screens, windows, etc. It's the stuff I didn't see when it was still wet that hardened and turned white...that was the worst to get out. Learned a good lesson to always hold the cap when I am shaking a product.
Funny you should mention this, I just dropped my bottle of Poorboy's SSR2 (circa 2004, the blue stuff) on Saturday and it broke. Irreplaceable, since they changed the color (and I guess the formula) a few years ago. S'ok, I got plenty of other polishes and more space on the shelf now.
Many years ago I almost lost my bottle of Four Star UPP...man that stuff is slippery and so is the bottle after you get some on your hands...
Only a partial spill but....
I was helping a friend with his car and also brewing some beer (already a bad idea) with many other friends, showing them how to wash, clay and seal. I showed them how to apply BFWD and left them to their own devices with a brand new bottle of BFWD while I checked on my beer. Came back to more than half a bottle of BFWD used on the car (2009 GTI) and another quarter on the floor. I guess I should have been more clear about application instructions.
My brother spilled my CG Bare Bones cleaner bottle on my room. The carpet felt so greasy it took about 5 months in order to get that product out of it. The second thing he did was to spill my CG Lava wax which was a new batch! I lost about 120.00 in that those two products.
Not too bad, but I dropped a 32oz (30$) new bottle of M205 in my garage. It hit the bottom corner of the bottle and cracked it. Stuff went everywhere, but luckily I was able to save most of it. Just made a mess on the floor and tool box from splatter.
haven't spilled any detailing products yet(I'm sure it'll happen), but my division was disconnecting oil lines on the submarine I was on, and spilled a good bit of oil in to the water. Cost the command around $25000 for cleanup and water testing.
I spilled some UTTGP+ on a favorite pair of shorts one time. After many washings it wouldnt come out . The fabric beaded water like it was nothing afterwards though.
