Hey guys!
I am just about to order my first ever detailing kit from autogeek.
However, since my knowledge right now is near zero (aiming for 100%) I need your help.
I want to get everything I need in this order, from the PC 7424 to the pads to the polish to the wax to the backing plate to everything!, I don't want to get my order only to see that there is something I forgot...

So please guy,s recommend me a KIT and everything else I need, I'm sure that with everyone's help we could be me the ULTIMATE KIT!

Thanks guys!

Last year I bought the PC kit with the Poorboy's polishes. It is a great introductory kit because you get everything a beginner needs including a great wax (Natty blue). The Poorboy polishes can be applied in many weather conditions (even direct sunlight!) and are not as harsh as some of the more intense brands, like Menz. The only other things you would need to buy would be an AIO and sealant for the best results. If you get these materials and search through older posts, you can learn a lot in a short amount of time.

Like I said, I just started detailing using non-OTC products last year and am already to step up to Menz polishes and, as soon as I can afford one, a FLEX.

The Poorboys Kit with buffer is an all-time best buy !

What is the difference between let's say the poorboys products and pinnacle or menzerna?

IMHO, menz polishes should be used after you get some experience with a less abrasive polish, like Poorboys. If you get a less abrasive polish, you can concentrate on learning how to use the PC. I learned a lot at this site:
Paintcare & Detailing - Enthusiasts guide to detailing

I would recommend that you try the Poorboy's kit then try different polishes after you get your technique down.

Ok, so let's say I get the poorboys kit, is there anything else I need?
A hook & loop or a backing plate?, wax or paint sealent?
Please help as I am a novice in this.

Sorry for the delay, issues at work. Basically, I would recommend:

1. PC with the Poorboy's kit. You get two polishes, all of the pads you need, some MF towels, Natty Blue wax, and pad cleaner. The backing plate is included as well.

2. I would purchase some additional MF towels; you can never have enough.

3. Buy the pad cleaning brush I gave you the link to earlier.

4. Klasse AIO and KSG would be a good buy as well. You can get a package like this: Klasse Kit, klasse car kit, klasse car care kit, saving you a lot of money.

That should get you off to a good start.

If you mean you need EVERYTHING, not just for polishing, but for car care in general you'll need:

WASHING
Wash buckets
Shampoo
A wash mitt of some type
MF towels for door jambs etc.
A guzzler for drying

CLAYING
Clay and lube

Polish
Polisher
Polishes
Pads
MF to wipe off after polishing

PROTECTION
A wax or sealant of you choice - or both

Some QD for maintainance as well as various dressing (tire, interiors, trim, etc.)
A nice glass cleaner is also a must.

More microfibers :D

toblerone, what is different between the Klasse AIO and KSG and what I get in the poorboys kit?

p.s.
I didn't quite get what a hook & loop does?
Do I need one?

It's a nice kit that's for sure. I used added a backing plate to my PC (purchased originally as a sander for woodwork). Once you try the non over the counter stuff with the pc it's a wonder why you never got a da polisher to begin with.

Menzerna stuff is great.

Wash, clay, swirl remover (if needed - this was the first time I used Menzerna - "oooohhh, this is what they mean by the product breaking down), Klasse AIO and SG, nuba was as lsp. = AWESOME

I used the Klasse product cuz I purchased a few years ago, and hate having it sit on the shelf.

The poorboy's kit is nice - good luck with it!

Thanks guys!
But I still don't understand whay is the difference between the Klasse AIO and KSG and what I get in the poorboys kit?

Klasse AIO is a paint cleaner that'll prep the paint to remove any oils or contaminants not removed earlier. It is a wonderful base for sealants, like Klasse SG. In the Poorboy's kit you do not have a sealant, only Natty's Blue, a wax. A sealant (especially KSG) offers much longer durability. After you apply and removed KSG (wipe on, wipe off, very very thin!) you need to wait 24 hours for it to bond before you can add the Natty's on top.

You definitely want to pick up some clay, it's almost mandatory :). One can never have too many MFs, pads or clay.

You've got a lot of good information here which will start your conversion to an OCD :D. The only other things you need to do is look through the older posts here as there is a lot of great info. you can use. One of the best things about this site is there are enthusiasts/novices all the way up to professional detailers.

Once you get all of your supplies and do your first full detail, the basic procedure is:

Wash
Clay
Wash
Polish
Seal
Wax

Like I said, this is a basic procedure. There are lots of add'l tricks members here have, but as you look through older posts, you will form your own opinions.:welcome:
