New to forum and need help. Used Zaino for over 10 years. Recently bought a new black Tacoma and did not like the Z's results. There is a greasy film over entire truck. What should I use to remove this before I switch to Pinnacle or Wolfgang? Also have type II waterspots. Any suggestions? Thanks

You didn't say which Zaino's you used, but have you tried wiping the truck down with Zaino Z6? That has almost always removed any kind of contaminants that I have found on my cars.

I went through the whole z process from dawn, clay, zfx, z5,z2,z6. Always worked on my gray 4 runner but the black is a new ball game. Doing everything by hand. Don't want to give up on z but the conditions were perfect. Looks great except when I put the swirl light on it. Then you can see the clouds/waterspots.

The paintwork cleansing lotion in either line (Wolfgang, Pinnacle) should remove any oils and other remaining products to prep the surface. Polishing with an abrasive polish is another choice.

Just used Meg's ultimate polish. Spots r gone. Now have cobwebs as expected. 6 coats of z5 and they r still there. Thought I knew a little about detailing but this black paint has made me a liar. Please please help

I used Zaino for years till I switched to better products. That said, I can tell you that the greasy film is mostly likely the heavy and super oily glaze that the dealer put on.
A good wash followed by a paint cleanser should fix your problem.

:iagree:

I agree about the dealership glaze, quick, easy and cheap. I don't agree with using Dawn and I'd look for something else that strips old stuff ut of the way, Griot's for instance has a product that cleans the paint safely and properly.

I know you've picked out another product to use but Black Fire and DuraGloss have moved me along away from Zaino quite nicely!

Good luck with the truck and welcome to the world of black vehicle ownership, I served my sentence years ago and now I'm free....never going back, LOL!

Good thoughts but I didn't let the dealer touch the truck before taking delivery. The Meg's ultimate got rid of the film and waterspots but now facing cobwebs. Is there something better to hide these than the z5? Thanks for the warm welcome.
