Zaino Z-2

Hey all, sorry to hijack the thread! I have been out of the auto detailing game for a LOOOOOOOOOONG time. Last time I got good auto detailing stuff, I got Zaino stuff years ago for my accord. I now have an 2008 BMW 328xi fully loaded with almost every option. I want to detail it badly. Is Zaino still relevant? Are they still up there in quality? Who else should I be considering? I want to detail the car inside and out. I have black paint and leather insides.

How is Pinnacle Souveran? Is that still a good brand? I know it's vastly different from Zaino, I just am curious as to what's good today.

Pinnacle Souveran is a beauty wax with not much durability, but in the looks department on black paint it's tough to beat.

Pinnacle Souveran will give you that deep wet (ink) look whereas Zaino will give you a hard candy shine, very reflective.

Duragloss vs Polish Angel? Which is better for long term and gives the best shine?

My favorite thing about Zaino was the bubblegum smell of some of the products.

Plus the bottles were so small that you could take them all with you.

If you still have the z2 try it on the new ride and see how you like it. If not there are tons of stuff to try spray on while wet rinse off like Car pro hydro2 lite. Standard sealants like Menzerna, blackfire, 4 star, and Wolfgang

Hybrid wax stuff like dodo juice supernatural, synergy.

Coatings like gloss coat, CSL, cquartz.

Polish angel line of luxe products.

It really just goes on for a never ending search of the best product for the person and there own eye and expectations and budget.

Focus your attention on how to polish paint with a dual-action polisher first. Removing swirls and scratches from modern clear coat is the KEY to achieving the ultimate shine and gloss.

After that, it doesn't really matter if you use Duragloss or Polish Angel products as your LSP. Both are good. If you're looking for the "ultimate" shine and durability for a daily driver, polish your paint first then protect it with a modern paint coating. Use the search feature of this forum for research.

My 2¢...

I like some of the Zaino products and even still like using some of my old stash. However, the posting hypocracy and selective enforcement of the forum rules is quite strange.

Nothing wrong with zaino other than it's not sold here. Stands up to top sealants still to this day

Car looks good should get several months out of it

I would agree that Z-2 is still one of the best sealants out there especially when it comes to durability and ease of application. I switched to Duragloss 601/111 about 2 years ago and it goes on like butter which is identical to Z-2. Great products for hand application. The 601/111 combo is not quite as durable as the Z-2/Z-1 combo was but it's close enough for me. I didn't really understand all the DG = Zaino theories until I tried the 111/601 combo.

Yeah, I've never been able to get quite the beading or longevity out of DG as I did Zaino. But I used to use ZFX rather than Z-1. Now that my ZFX is all dried up, I may have to try using 601 if I ever get around to using up the rest of my Z-2 and Z-5.

depending on weather it is garaged or not you should get 6 months. if garaged longer
