Zaino ZPC

I just brought a black 2000 BMW 740IL and i was thinking about using zaino zpc to get rid of alot of the swirls on the car. I just ordered a PC so thats what i will be using. What pad should i use to apply to zpc and at what speed. I know that it is going to take me a couple of passes to get most of the swirls out. Also if i follow with Zaino AIO what pad should i use, or should i just apply that by hand? Thanks in advance.

Not a Zaino expert but most paint correction with a PC is done at full speed. Start with white pad and if test area doesn't clean up with that then go to orange. For the AIO black or blue pad and much slower speed. Not doing any correction just spreading product around. I would venture speed 2 would suffice. Good luck and post some pics when your done.

I found ZPC to be a light finishing polish at best and the green color stained my rubber surrounds. I highly suggest moving to Menzerna for polishing duties. You can still use their AIO over it as wanted. All correction with a PC with be on highest setting.

Thank you for the help. Would Menzerna give me better results than the zpc, if so which Menzerna product should i use.

While I have never used it, I haver been told that ZPC is very pad specific. In other words, if using ZPC with a 4 inch white pad, you can get some decent paint correction with a PC and then use it on a white pad and get decent polishing.

Never heard of this. I always tape up my car before polishing so I really don't have to worry about it.

Since you already have the ZPC, might as well give it a try. Just use some painters tape (3M Blue or Green will do the trick) to avoid harming your trim. I would recommend 4 inch orange and 4 inch white. Start with the white pad. Most likely it will not give you enough correction but you always want to start with the least agressive method first. If the white pad is not enough, go with the 4 inch orange pad. That will give you more cut however, it will leave some hazing which will require you to do some light polishing with the white pad.

If you are not happy with the results, next time you polish your car, use Menzerna instead. I like using Menzerna Super Intensive Polish for my cutting (Intensive Polish is pretty good also) and then follow up with Menzerna Nano Polish for my clean up polishing.

I'm no expert but I did my first Flex polish this weekend with Menz SIP/White and Nano/Blue and was astounded by the results. I did use the SIP/Orange on the hood to get rid of a couple of more stubborn scratchs. If the ZPC does not work, Menz is your friend!

Go with Menzerna. For what I understand, the clearcoat on the BMW's is hard. I think Menzerna SIP will be a much wiser choice
