Detailing novice question...

I recently purchased a used Honda Accord (Nighthawk Black Pearl) and a host of Zymol products (Carbon wax, HD Cleanse, Lehm Klay bar). The car's paint was not well taken care of (still glossy, but lots and lots of microscopic swirls and scratches),

Because it's winter, I haven't had time to do more than wash, Clay and put one coat of wax on it. Just doing that yielded pretty decent results in terms of smooth paint and an acceptable temporary shine, but the swirls and scratches remain. I've yet to use the HD Cleanse.

I've read on this forum that folks generally don't recommend Zymol for daily drivers, but I want to use this stuff up before moving on to something else. My query is: is there a specific brand of sealant, scratch remover, or other products I can use to complement the Zymol stuff? This is a used car, but the paint has potential. I don't, however, want to break the bank on detailing product.

FWIW, I also own the three and six-inch Griot's Garage orbital polishers.

Thanks in advance.

Any good sealant will work under the Zymol wax. I recommend: Powerlock, BlackFire Wet Diamond, or Wolfgang DGPS. But, what you really nead to do is compound and polish to get out the scratches - that is what will make the car look great. There are a lot of good brands, it's more the work you put into the correction that matters. Wolfgang and Optimum polishes are very good.

^^^^^ x2.Prep is key. I guess it all depends on your area, nothing wrong with Zymol Carbon in the end.Couple coats or sealant underneath. Use it up and enjoy the looks of what you have. The Zymol line of waxes can be a little finicky to use.A damp applicator will help it spread and use it THIN and do very small sections you will be good to go. Enjoy,Welcome and enjoy your new ride
