Personally I have the tinted windows due to my eye. I have very sensitive eyes and when it clear sky with nothing but sun I have to squint and blink so much that I can barely see anything.

That! My friend- is photosensitivity :xyxthumbs:

here in Guatemala is very insecure right now, you cant stop on a traffic light without be afraid of getting robbed.. sometimes even when you are driving at regular speed..

that is why people start to tinted windows and a lot also the windshield, I personaly dont like dark tinted, but is kind of a necesity.

Just curious, how do tinted windows keep you from getting robbed?

I drive south on the highway to go to work. This means the rising morning sun beats down on my face and arm from the left. On the way back home I drive north. This, too, means the setting sun beats down on my face and arm from the left. The tint reduces the twenty minutes of discomfort each way.
Additionally, I drive an expensive car. I didn't buy it to show off, I bought it because I like how it handles. I prefer not to have people know what I drive.

How do tinted windows keep people from knowing what you drive? Does it make your car invisible when you drive to your house? Or make you invisible when you get out of it wherever you are going?

Maybe I'm just tired but I'm trying to process the logic of this...someone on the road sees your "expensive" car but they can't look in and see the driver...so they say to themselves "gee, that's an expensive car, too bad we can't see who the driver is!". Presuming that these are the kind of people who would do harm to you or your car...are they not capable of following the car to its destination due to tinted windows?

This thread gets stranger the longer it goes on...vampires, etc.

EDIT: Oh wait, are you the Batman?

Funniest post so far this year, not abrasive but done in a "tongue in cheek" manner that made me laugh after a busy day of work, thank you! I understand the need for comfort but others on the road have no way of knowing who you are or will remember your face in the couple seconnds they see you drive by.

No, silly. No such thing as batman or cloaking devices.

It keeps the people that know me from seeing me in the car. Believe me, they can see the car. In this world of one-upmanship, I choose not to participate. Quite simple, really.

Now, some will see me when i get in and/or out, but that, in contrast, is a small number.

Cloaking devices are commonly used by the Clingons, its a well known fact.

As far as not being noticed while driving, maybe try the glasses w/ built in mustache or a nice fidora or maybe even both.

This thread right here makes AG a really awesome automotive forum!

Quite true. I work with several thousand people, many of whom I know from a distance. I am not so concerned about people in traffic, but those on campus.
It is weird, I know.

My truck has factory tint on the rear 3 windows, and 35% on the front windows (except windshield at this time). It's more comfortable to drive with tinted windows.

One interesting thing about this thread, other than the opinions, is that we've got a variety of people checking in, not the usual AG'ers, this says something, not sure what inparticular but it does for sure!

Don't think too much about it :D

All that I can add is that it was almost 100 here in Chicago the last two days, and I thank God for my 35% tints all the way around!

Drove in a non tinted car today with the dun out and could really tell the difference as far as being hot and uncomfortable in the car.
