Are High End Products Worth The Money?

You don't even need to talk in such extremes.

Even the difference between something like a Chevy Impala and a base model 3-series is staggering.

We're talking $30 wax compared to $200 wax. Or are we comparing $30 wax to $40 wax?
We're comparing extremes.

There comes a point of diminishing returns. You can get excellent results with a $29.99 wax. But sometimes you have to spend just a little more to get that extra little pop. And if you want that little extra on top of the extra, it will cost some more. So suddenly you've gone from a $30 wax, to a $60 wax, and then to a $100 wax.
The improvement you see going from a $10 wax to a $30 wax is far greater than that from a $30 wax to $60 wax, and so on.
Some people just don't have the eye for results that you get from the $100 wax. Others are just fine with a hand washed car.

Ok, you got me there.

In that case:
M26 >> TW hardshell :D
(what's that... $10 vs. $5?)

im not specifically talking about wax. im talking about products in general. If there is anybody on here that uses many high-end products and swears they are that much better please let me know. Im most curious to hear if/why they are better. I would pay the money for them if its worth it. So i'm on a mission to figure out if its worth it. If i was rich, id buy them to try but unfortunately i still have bills to pay :dblthumb2:

The car in your avatar is a high end car. Are you not able to tell the difference between that and a Camry?

Long after the price is forgotten, the quality remains.

To use Fuzion as my example, I would not have bought/tried the wax if I had to buy the full size pot. But I got the small sample size and loved it. But what's interesting are the reasons I really like it and it's not about how it made the paint look. It's all about the on/off ease of use - just fantastic. I can apply it by hand and do it quickly and efficiently - just wonderful and my favorite LSP so far-but these are factors important to me. You might not really care about that. Longevity might be the only thing that matters to you. Guess what, Fuzion's not for you at any price. Is it worth 3-5x the price of some of the other products out there?...we each answer that question every time we open our wallets and place an order-for detail supplies or any other product or service. My recommendation is think about what characteristics are important or not important to you and spend accordingly.

I know better and still get caught up in the high end car cleaning product game.
I have a close relative who is a PHD chemical engineer and every I ask if there a really difference in all these products he laughs . He refuses to name, names, but he saya you can buy a great product wax for 35 and any thing else is=====.

I only have one product that I consider "High End" and that is Fuzion Wax.

And I didn't buy any until they not only had an incredible sale that included the fancy box and the free refill, but I paid for it with a 40% off gift certificate from a previous special. So it actually didn't really cost like a high end product. but it sure uses like one.

But would I ever buy a one thousand dollar wax? Not even if my next 100 stock pics went up a thousand percent each!

You have yet to state, in your opinion, what the exact price-point is for a product to be considered high-end.

Please advise. Thanks.

NOTE:
Once that price-point has been established I will, definitely, feel more at ease in asking you:
"Is it possible to have a high-end product, without it having a high-end price tag attached"?

:)

The price point is anything above $60 bucks and under $250. Remember this is NOT JUST referring to WAX. just talking about high end products whether its leather cleaner, sealant, semi perm coatings, wheel sealants, etc.

Above $60? Some of the best products are around $10 in the case of Duragloss.

Meg's has great products in the under $20 bracket.

Throw in Collinite as well.

Silverfox, I use some megs stuff and collinite 845 is ALWAYS in my detailers bag. I'm just curious like I've been asking "are the high end products worth the money" nobody has seemed to convince me that they are so far...ill keep waiting for more replies..thanks everybody for the feedback though

AGO forum member silverfox pretty much summed-up my above postulate.

Wow u guys are critical! haha ill specify further. I WANT TO KNOW ABOUT HIGH END PRODUCTS WITH THE HIGH END PRICE TAGS...im guessing now that forum members arent fooled by the fancy packaging! I get it!

If Fuzion ($195), Souveran ($95), Presidenziale ($399), Competizione ($299) show the slightest edge on your $60 waxes, I would pay for them

thats not at all helpful? Why is it difficult to find somebody to comment "Hi brian, I have used (place product here) and its $200 bucks. It is definitely worth it because.... Compared to (place less expensive product here) it had better (place characteristics here)" Guys, I am not trying to be insulting of other products, I simply haven't used any really expensive products but have noticed the growing market for them.
