I could of sworn that infrared (heat) radiation, and heat loss in the cold depths of space,Gold is on of the best UV protectants on the planet (NASA uses it on visors for astronauts).
was of the utmost concern for NASA's astronauts...not UV protectants.
Gold, silver, aluminum...in fact any metal coating, stops infra-red (heat) radiation!!
Gold is the preferred coating because it imparts a "true-color" to visible light.
(Silver, for example imparts a bluish-green tinge)
NOTE: "Gold" was my preferred welding lens coating's color.
Also:
"Gold paint" is used by NASA, and others, in preventing heat escape.
With that in mind:
Question:Not only that but it adds a gold metallic to the paint.
Would thermal condition(s) be affected/enhanced, on/in vehicles' panels,
if a person covered them up with a wax that was laden with enough "gold"
to make said panels look as though they were now of a golden-metallic origin?
"But my vehicle was never, ever painted a metallic paint", cried Lil' Billy.Effectively sharpening and reversing the effects wax has on muting metallic.
My OH My!!
