Are High End Products Worth The Money?

Gold is on of the best UV protectants on the planet (NASA uses it on visors for astronauts).
I could of sworn that infrared (heat) radiation, and heat loss in the cold depths of space,
was of the utmost concern for NASA's astronauts...not UV protectants.

Gold, silver, aluminum...in fact any metal coating, stops infra-red (heat) radiation!!
Gold is the preferred coating because it imparts a "true-color" to visible light.
(Silver, for example imparts a bluish-green tinge)
NOTE: "Gold" was my preferred welding lens coating's color.

Also:
"Gold paint" is used by NASA, and others, in preventing heat escape.

With that in mind:
Not only that but it adds a gold metallic to the paint.
Question:
Would thermal condition(s) be affected/enhanced, on/in vehicles' panels,
if a person covered them up with a wax that was laden with enough "gold"
to make said panels look as though they were now of a golden-metallic origin?

Effectively sharpening and reversing the effects wax has on muting metallic.
"But my vehicle was never, ever painted a metallic paint", cried Lil' Billy.

My OH My!!

Thanks for the input on the Gold Bob!

As for the thermal conduction, I don't think it would affect it in any way (maybe marginally, but only to an extremely accurate thermometer)

As for the gold look affect, it would change the metallic origin, it will add a gold hue to the Metallics.

For non metallic paints, it will add a gold sparkle to it, seen best under sun light! I wouldn't call it "adding a metallic" though. Now I haven't actually tried this wax (for obvious reasons!), but I have tried other offerings with gold in it (spray wax and paint sealant) on a flat black paint. I can honestly say that they do work! If the paint has a lot of metallic (new Buicks and Maseratis seem to be pumping up the metallic size and ratios) the gold will not be as prominent.

:)

I honestly think that achieving good results in detailing has much less to do with products and more to do with technique.

Looking at it another way, if Tiger Woods gave me his clubs and I gave him my used Sears clubs ...who would get the better results?

That's why when I read threads on here about best this or best that , its only half the equation.

this question is in the eye of the beholder. are there alternatives for less to some high end products that will give you the same results? yes. it just comes down to personal taste...
