I bought this 1996 GMC new and have been doing my best keeping looking its best since prushased.

The truck wasn't washed for over 6 weeks due to my surgery and this weekend I wanted to get it looking good but more important have it protected for the winter months.

GG6
Maxi-Suds. 2BM
Meg's Clay
M205
Orange CG'S orange hex pad
EZ Cream Glaze
Groit's Paint Sealant
GoldClass Paste Wax
NXT liquid wax

Did a full paint correction 6 months ago and found no swirls, I was happy to see none.

I picked up very little while claying.
Polished the paint, it looked a little on the dull side, so I polished using m205 using a CG'S orange pad.

Then I washed it again, just to make sure it was clean.
Applied EZ Cream Glaze by hand.
Applied a coat of Griot's Paint Sealant, after removing it sat over night.

Today I wiped it down with a RW
Applied Meg's GoldClass Paste Wax then topped it with NXT wax/sealant.

The truck is 17 years old and the finish is still perfect, shiny and smooth.

Ever since I bought it I took care of it, goes to show you what a little work every now and then can do to help you keeping flawless.

I didn't take before pics because as I said the paint was flawless just very dirty.

Tire looks wet but it's 100% dry.
It's a water base industrial cleaner/gloss protector that is hard to find, not an easy product one can buy, my rep gives me a couple of can from time to time, it will last about 3 weeks, zero sling.

Overall I'm very happy with the results, the paint is factory, never had to touch up , go figure.

The truck has 228k on it and drive it two hours each day to and from work, it's never parked in a garage.

I freaking love it , it gives me an amazing shine from the get go, then I build from there.
Plus it's so user friendly.

Two months from now and see the need to add shine I'll apply it, gives me exactly what I'm looking for.
It's my favorite product out of all that I own.

Nice work! What do you think of the EZ-Cream glaze?

Nice job, that truck sure doesn't look like it's 17 years old with 200K+ miles on it, that's for sure.

I'm often as asked to see it to someone , even if I was to buy a new one I'll hang on to it.
I want to see how long I can keep the paint looking like it is now.

I love seeing your truck!!! I'd keep that thing around as long as it is sound mechanically. I saw one if your other posts saying your wife? wants you to get a new one. If you do keep this one! It's sweet to see an older truck maintained like yours has been.

It runs great too, about tho years ago the transmission went out so I put a brand new one in, no rattles, rides well and the steering is like the day I bought it.

If I was to buy a new truck I'd build a closed in garage in keep it in there and never get rid of it.
My RAV has a great shine but that's normal and easy to do being it's fairly new.
Keeping a 17 year olf vehicle looking good takes work, but that's the fun part.

What do you use on the black trim that runs down the sides? The same stuff you used on the tires?

For a truck that age to have the black trim look that good is a great accomplishment!

Yeah same product, UV protection makes it that much better.
It's more of a coating than anything else.
Plus it cleans very well, all it one, clean and protect only using one product.
