How does the Rupes LHR 15 compare to the PC 7424 in terms of vibration and ease of use? What application would the Duetto be preferred over the LHR 15?

The Rupes is the smoothest machine you can get. The larger throw of the machine increases defect removal which is a huge benefit. Along with the larger throw you no longer need to apply downward force to the head of the machine like you do with a PC

I can't compare apples to apples, I have a Griotts and Rupes 21, however I did enjoy the Duetto yesterday at the Thursday night detail. The first time I used my Griotts I thought my arm was going to vibrate off. Great tool for smaller areas and spots you need more ooomph to keep the pad moving. The 21 on the other hand, no buzz no vibration, nada. Great for acres of flat panels. The Duetto, awesome on small sections, A/B/C pillars and such or door jambs. Smooth operation as well, however it gets HOT.

Gets HOT: First time I've seen this quirk mentioned.
Interesting hands-on observation.
Thanks for sharing. :xyxthumbs:

I think the duetto is 3" with a 12 mm throw.

definitely picking up the LHR 12E Duetto! :D 5" so i can already use it with my 5.5" pads and the orbit is already good enough for me! 12mm orbit compared to the 15mm and 21mm orbits from the larger machines (only doing this for my and my family's cars and not a job so i don't need the 15 or 21)

any of you got an idea of how much will the machine be alone?
