I'd read in another thread that you are a satisfied Flex owner. Have you been sold on the Rupes after your time behind the wheel?
The Rupes are nice machines and smoother then the Flex 3401 IMO. Some of the guys mentioned that the Rupes tended to bog down on them when working on curved panels. I didn't run into that situation because I worked mostly on the flat panels.
One of the reasons I like the Flex is because of its forced rotation. I'm still very satisfied with the Flex 3401. Others have mentioned that the 5" Hybrid pads work great on the Flex and cause it to run smoother. I have the 6.5" pads now but I'm going to give the 5" pads a try.
I'm not a full time detailer, I'm a Civil Engineer by profession, but I consider this a fascinating hobby. If I was a full time detailer, or begin to do this for profit or begin to work on some high end cars. I think I would like to have at least one of the Rupes as part of my arsenal. They are nice machines but I personally don't need one at the moment. I also have the Flex PE14 Rotary. I feel that having both machines is sufficient for me at the present time.
