I hear what you saying, I personally never had that problem why dont you just pick off the black spects and just hold the mitt from the outside another alternitive is go to autozone, pepboys or simular place and buy a cheap five dollar chenillie mitt its gonna be either a eurow or carrand brand under a different name or if have a advance auto parts near they should have groits wash mitts....just my eight cents...good luck
yeah that's the sort of mitt i used for years; particularly, the bright tennis ball green ones they'd have at Advance. those are what turned me onto chenille mitts in the first place. with those auto store types, the same thing would happen with the elastic failure but even worse in that the cuff would just loosen up totally on top of WHITE bits, so they'd be even harder to see than the hard black bits. but on top of that, they typically had a liner inside that would eventually have to be cut out when it would interfere with easily flipping to a fresh side while keeping it on my hand. i figured i'd be getting a premium version of that with the AG stuff but unfortunately i've been wrong.
after the specks show up, i've been taking the cuff part off but part of the appeal of a mitt is the spread (overall area) you can get with your hand inside and also the overall control while easily flipping to a fresh side. when the cuff is off, i wants to fall off of your hand especially when saturated, and without being on your hand, it's just like a regular wash media or sponge and you lose a lot of the benefits of a mitt.
it'd be nice to just be able to rely on something so it doesn't fail in some dumb way that makes the mitt useless even though the "meat" of the mitt is still great.
I've never use a MF Chenille mitt but...
IME wool mitts release trapped dirt much easier than anything microfiber. I usually need to scrub my microfiber mitt and towels with soap to clean them.
yeah chenille aren't like that. they release super easy. i find the deep nap wool mitts (uber, wookie, rethickulous) hold onto too much stuff and because they are natural, end up having weird nuances that cause them to fail. like, they shed or rot, etc.
i ordered two of the incredimitts so we'll see how that plays out. reviews all across the world are great for those; they just don't have a real presence in the US. i also am going to get a couple of the megs MF mitts; they aren't chenille, but i think they are cheap enough where it'll be worth getting them to gauge the quality and the user experience.
