Black car wax vs regular carnauba

The Blackfire products make me take note every time I see pictures on them. My real question is about the durability of the BFWD sealant for those of us that live in less hospitable areas and would put this stuff on our daily drivers.

I've only see one real endurance test, and the stuff only seemed to last about two months or so. I really want to give the BF products a try on my black GTI, but not if I'll have to be constantly having to re-apply products. I guess I've been spoiled by Klasse and Collinite.

How about a little Motherly love...

I've always loved, used, and keep on hand at all times, Mothers products.

The point however, is...

...the prep.

I agree, I picked up a bottle of mother's pure carnauba liquid wax on a lark years ago at the local parts store as I wanted to try applying a wax via PC and never thought at the time a paste wax by DA would work well. It looked great on top of Klasse SG.

I honestly can't see a difference in it and $100 wax in photos. I can, however, see a difference in a car that was polished and finished with something like UC as a one stepper, and one that gets finished with say, SF4500. Knowing me, I would probably precondition myself to believe that since I spent $100+ on a wax it must clearly be better. I wager I would "see" things in that wax that weren't there in the cheaper versions.

I'm trying to keep myself (and my pocketbook!) blissfully ignorant on this particular topic.

That being said, I've never tried a dedicated black or dark colored wax for a car, I only know what it does for my dress shoes.

Not impressed at all with BFWD sealant's longevity on my vehicles, but I do like how it looks. Darkens black paint considerably and has a nice shine. Lasts on my vehicle about as long as old version of Opti-seal, which isn't long even after a clay and full compound/polish type prep.
