Possible Spring 2014 Chicagoland Detail Day?

I'm pretty much good with where ever also, however, same as last year, since my wife works weekends I have to have the kids in tow which can make for a long day, I'm not concerned with them being around the cars because they've been trained to look and not touch. Home, they have toys!!
 
I'd like to join, but I would need a firm date before committing. I'd bring out my beater DD.

 
Yeah the later the better, March is out of the question. We'll have to play it by ear but the good thing about this thread is that it establishes there IS goinng to be a get together and it gets the word out. Being from Detroit I'm used to nice cars but I'll say this, Chicagoland is every bit the car town as the D is, our forum proves it!

Took some quick pics, there not the best since garage is small and its cold out. you can see why i dont care about the jeeps paint lol and it dont help i clayed and waxed the benz before winter.

I was invited by Jeff to come out to his shop so my wife and I took him up on his offer and I've gotta tell you guys this, YOUR GOING TO LOVE THIS PLACE! Its surgically clean and oranized, very organized! Jeff is a really nice guy and made us feel very welcomed out there. His friends were also very nice, seems there's a "Cars and Coffee" out there on Sundays. Btw Jeff Amanda was thankful for the coffee too, she really liked it.

This shop has plenty of room, parking out front and out back, upstairs room with large tv and 3 leather recliners and room for more chairs too. Jeff mentioned pizza for our party or we could cater, we'll figure something out there. Its early going but I'm really looking forward to putting a name with a face and seeing some people I've only met once as well. I see we've got what, 9 people confirmed already, let's make this a great event come spring.

Btw, hoping to get some support from AG on this, maybe a gift pack to give away in a drawing?

Clean ride Paul, its the same color as Jeffs ZR1! Are your stockers for winter use?

I see this as a detail day, carshow, get together, product excange/tryout, whatever you want it to be. Not sure if were going to have the classic car to restore like Mike and the crew get to work on but our get together will be a very good time, guaranteed!

Oh yeah Jeff, for sure and I mispoke about the nickname for your car, its not "King", that's the ZO6, the ZR1 is "Emperor".

I should also remind the group that our gratious host owns a ZR1, and could be inviting some other friends as well, a GTR and a McClaren as well, a current one! I wouldn't be surprised to see other cars show up as well, there's going to be something for everyone there, detailing, tips and tricks, trades, cars to look at, food and good times. Our detail day will more than likely be sometime in April per Jeff as people will be picking up their cars for the driving season, so as of right now there's no definite date but its very early anyways.

This is also a great way to put a name with a face, can't wait for this one!!

Thank you. Everything about my G8 is bone stock. The original Goodyear RSAs have gotten me through 4 1/2 winters. Heck they even got me home in Snowmegeddon (I was the last to leave the office that day and made sure everyone got home safe.) Though with 40,000 miles on them it's getting time to replace them.

Looking forward to spring!

I know you don't know me from Adam but if you don't mind there's one tire for that car and its driving style...Continental DWS! I have a guy at Discount Tire, he's now running the store in Joliet and he'll take good care of you, he's a car guy too!

You don't see those cars left bone stock too much anymore, that's for sure. Is yours a GT or no?

So I was reading the celebrity list for AG's detail day and thought I'd throw it out to the group and see if anyone knows a celebrity to invite out to our event. We've got some impressive cars coming out, along with our group of spotless DD's, so does anyone have a connection to anyone???
