Possible Spring 2014 Chicagoland Detail Day?

I picked up the grand prize from UPS this morning and because I didn't hear from the person whom donated it to our Detail Day about whether or not to announce what it is I think its best to keep it a surprise for the group. I will say this, the winner will be happy for sure, no doubt about it!

A little unrelated but good for the Chicago crowd to know. I picked up Collinite Fleetwax at West Marine off Roosevelt in Lombard and he said they were out but will be getting some 845 next week - I plan to go back...

Only other places are a few marinas on the shore and tough to get to for a suburbanite. The West Marine off Roosevelt is between 355 and 294.

Also got a bottle of Amazing Roll Off. What a great product for the wheels...

I think it would be super cool if you brought it. I've been wanting to see one in action and possibly try it if you'd be alright with that. Also very interested in trying a Rupes. I know I wanna buy one of them, just not sure which. You're more than welcome to try out my PC :)

I haven't read the whole thread yet, but is the event rain or shine? I added myself to the list on the other thread. Is there a cap on # of attendees? I only ask because I could mention it on another local car club forum if you want some more people. If you do want me to mention it I will be sure to post that the event is focused on detailing and not just a meet and greet/car show.

It is rain or shine as we've got a shop to go into and work on our donor car, which everyone is welcomed to work on, encouraged infact. As far as posting it on another forum goes I think its best to keep it limited to fellow AG members but if you have a close friend from the forum that wants to come along I see nothing wrong with that. This is a meet and greet, mini-carshow, detailing day and hanging out, whatever you wanna get out of it.

Its been asked before, should I bring this or that, I say bring it because there may be someone there whom wants to see something in action. I for one hope that a Rupes is brought to the event, I wanna see what the hype is all about!

Now because were getting close to a month from the event I would encourage those on the list to PM me so I can send you the addy for the location as our host has asked for it to not be posted on our public forum, I will also post this is the other thread as well and keep posting this as we get closer and closer to the actual date, thank you!

^^ I might bring a friend or two, depends how their schedule will be.


I'll also bring my Flex 3401 VRG, and maybe a couple of products or something just in case. Never hurt.
 
I suggest to anyone looking to help out with our donor car to bring your tools and a polish to use on the car, please don't forget your pads either, even though your only doing a panel or section. Speaking of this IMO we should use the Mother's product as an LSP since they are supporting us. MadMerc, are you ok with us using Mother's as an LSP on your sisters car?

I will be bringing my Rupes21 ( and a 15 bp ) , Makita rotary , Rupes LHR 75 and Rupes light. . If there is interest I can grab my Megs g100v2 , Griots 6" and 3 " and pc 7336. If needed I have folding tables.
 
Thanks Paul, an extra table is a great idea because....I just got a PM from Forrestt from Mother's and the amount of items he's sending us for our event is awesome! So between what I have from Aerospace 303, Mother's and donated items from myself and other members its going to be epic, not to mention Lake Country and Auto Geek, PLUS the grand prize!

We're about 5 weeks away guys, its getting closer and closer!

I will be bringing a Griot's 6" that anyone can try out if they haven't already.

No problem...will not be mentioned on the other forum. I may have a friend with a ZL1 that might want to come but that is pretty much it.
