Meguires or Adam's?

Heck Bob some cost over $50.00.
Thirty dollars is my max for a car soap.
If you break it down it's fairly cheap.
1-2 ounces for a full bucket of soap.
I've used cheaper soaps and had to add a lot of product and still no where near would it give me the suds as Mr.Pink does or even Maxi-Suds for that matter which is a little cheaper than the Pink.

What I really love about the soap is little water spots after washing, that big when you own a black car.

Mr. Pink goes for around $30.00 a gallon...
And even at that price-point: That's pretty expensive for car soap, IMHO.

Hate swirls I've been using Mr. Pink which I like I just picked up a gallon of optimum wash once the weather breaks I will compare the two. A lot of guys here really like it and dura gloss car soap, so I'll see if I like it or I go back to Mr. Pink.

Please let me know if you prefer it over Mr.Pink

You can buy two gallons of CG'S Mr.Pink car soap to their one gallon of car soap.

...But Adam's soap is exponentially better IMO and I'm not even close to an "Adam's homer". Have you tried Adam's soap ever?

I cringe when I see people say that Megiuar's Gold Class soap is excellent or when they use Stoners Invisible Glass and say "it's the best ever!"

The reason I bring up those two categories: glass cleaner and car shampoo...is because I think Adam's is at the top (arguably) in those categories. Their glass cleaner is IMO the best I have ever used and so worth the extra money. I'm probably the biggest complainer of filthy glass on this forum, so I'm pretty anal about it.

Here's another reason I prefer not paying even $30 a gallon for car-wash shampoos:
Picked-up two gallons of Meguiar's Deep Crystal right after Christmas for $5.99 ea.

Talk about a sudsy product...Suds Galore!
It is often said that 'suds', in and of themselves: Don't "clean".
But, still: Suds Galore!!

I'm a big Meg's fan but not when it comes to their car soaps.
It leaves water spots like crazy.

I have used both Adams glass cleaner and chemical guys and I have to say for me stoner wins for price and performance, Adams is better than chemical guys. As far as soap Mr. Pink beats Adams as far as performance for price. This is not a scientific fact just my opinion.:buffing: also I have used a lot of Adams products. But hey that's why we have choices.

I completely agree.

I don't use many Meguiar's products anymore, but D156 is so amazing that even thinking about it makes me want to go use it right now, but it's -6 degrees and my car is full of salt.

This next part isn't directed towards you; don't want you to think it is since I quoted you (HatesSwirls)... but I never understood the hatred towards Adam's. Yes their forums can be annoying, yes they are years late it seems when releasing products, yes they are expensive, yes people ONLY use Adam's (obviously cutting themselves short), yes some of the mode seem to only know Adam's, etc...but they do have some good products.

With that said, if you don't want to try them because of whatever reason that's fine, but if you haven't tried them; your opinion is invalid.

:iagree: So many people hate without trying them. I mostly just use their car shampoo, glass cleaner, detail spray for drying, quick sealant, and APC for plastics and rubber. Those are their products that stand out, otherwise the rest can be replaced with cheaper and better options.

Meguiars D120 is the best glass cleaner for the price I have used. I don't know if it is technique or something else but I have never had a problem getting glass clean. 1 gallon of D120 makes 11 gallons so .01 per ounce and Adams would cost me .31 per ounce.
I have used quite a few Adams products and they do make good stuff. 99% of their products are RTU. If they would come up with a Detailers Line like Meguiar's they would be a much better buy. They do make a lot of money just by selling everything RTU which is the reason there is no reason for them to change. They also have quite a few members that are not aware there are other products out there which are as good if not better.

I have been a meguiar's fan and user for a long time. I ventured out to try out Adam's as they are a sponsor on one of the car forums I belong to. Adam's offers some nice stuff but I was not overly wowed with some of the things I used. I figured I could get the same performance with meguiar's as with Adam's for half the cost. Meaning I could spend money on other products from different vendors. The only thing I have left from adam's is VRT which is a great product. I do take advantage of their myster box sales when they have them.

Really?? I have found NXT to be a really great shampoo!

Agreed! D120 is the best! The Adams product smells nice but just isn't cost effective.

I personally don't like Mr. Pink and respect your opinion and your choice (not every product is for everyone). I've never seen a negative review on Adam's soap, but have seen plenty negative reviews about Mr. Pink.

I respect that you actually tried their product though.

Chemical Guys Glass cleaners are absolutely terrible. Cant speak for any of their newer products though. (probably the same anyways)

Yep, nearly the same for me. I prefer D156 to their detail spray, but kind of "differentish" products. D156 works better in extreme weathers.

Huge money makers for them and agree that there are other cheaper alternatives that work well.

While the glass cleaner is cheaper in the end, you can't say it works better. Price aside: Its just not as smooth, the lubricity isn't there and the cleaning abilities are the same. Its very hard to get Adams to streak. I understand your argument about it being cheaper for 'professional' use, but for me it doesn't matter; I don't need 10 gallons a year.

That's too much defending of Adam's for me, yikes!

*I am far from a fanboy as I have used just as many products as any of you.

I don't hate Adams but it is very tough to get an honest review on their products. I did read where you did a review and said something negative about one of them. The comments started coming back that your method of applying was incorrect, microfiber towel was the wrong one, surface wasn't prepared properly, and of course the Kia plastic is cheap crap and that if you had a GM product you wouldn't have a problem. I haven't reordered any of the Adams products that I have tried which include soap, detail spray, and APC.

The trick is to only trust the reviews of users that are also on AG. You're right though, some of the responses are just sad over there if you post something negative.

Wow this turned into quite the comparison. Learning a lot. Great!

Lol at mr.pink being better but than Adams soap. Adams shampoo I far superior in every aspect unless you're just looking for a cheaper soap. I have now optimum car soap Meg's hyper wash and I will probably order more Adams soap when I run out which will probably be years.

Seeing I have only had to wet wash my car 1 time in 2 years I don't have a good soap review. But I will tell what I do to keep a Black 98Z clean and swirl free for two years. Here goes 2 yrs ago a wash with Meguiars Gold Class Wash 2.Clayed 3. 10 hour detail for swirls or whatever on surface. 4. Wax Older 80's vintage can of Meguiars #26 Yellow Carnauba and have also put newer Meguiars #26 HI-TECH Yellow #26 wax over that at times. And to me the best buy I have made to make a clean brake dust/ pollen and general swirl preventer was when I picked up a bottle of ULTIMA WATERLESS WASH PLUS+. You can make a 22 oz spray bottle of the concentrate out of 1/2 oz . It runs some where around $16-$22 for a bottle. I still have half a bottle left after 2 yrs. Ya i don'nt get it out as much I'd like. Remember it is BLACK so windy days or rain in forecast it's sleeping under cover. Now which is just as important as all the work is covering process. I use flannel bed sheets and Polar Fleese next to paint surface then a cheap cover to hold them in place. It been working for me. Hope some of this helps. Could'nt sleep it's 4 o'clock here so excuse my speelliinngg.
