Thinking about trading in the CR-Z for a Fiat 500 Abarth, thoughts?

I like where you are going with the car! Improving weak points and moderate performance upgrades, pretty similar to what I've done to my car.

Are the BOVs noisy on the Fiats? Most of the ones available for the ST are really loud.

Short shifter was one of the first things I did and one of my favorite upgrades. You will love it.
 
Well when I did the SRI you could hear the BOV for sure but I wouldn't say it loud, not like say a FORGE BOV on an SRT4 Neon.

There are some suspension short comings which will be addressed down the road, i.e. fronts bushes and there's actually some Koni's for the rear, front has Koni's already but from what I hear they're "basic" ones. Our roads are terrible here so lowering the car is out of the question. On my way home this evening I got the car up to 91 mph (shhhh, don't tell anyone) and I just don't like how it feels, maybe it's because it's so light and has such a short wheelbase. Either way, there will be no high speed tickets for me in this car 🚔

Btw I drove a Focus ST when the last Fast and Furious movie came out and there was 4 of us in it and I thought it ran strong. If I had one it would be that tangdrine a/ Recaros or white with darker blue Viper style'd stripes from the bottom of the front bumper to the bottom of the rear, they say it's supposed to be done🇺🇸

What's cool about this kit is it just reduces the throw, not the entire shifter. Now the shifter itself is longish but the way the car is set up you kinda need it unless you've got long arms and in that case you'd want a shorter shifter in this car.

Will you get the entire short shifter Monica or does someone offer a kit that reduces the throw? How about the shiftknob?

I believe the one I am going to get just reduces the throw... I don't want the stick shorter. And I am trying to find a good shift knob that I like.

I just ordered a set of 1" lower springs and dampers. The roads I drive are pretty good but I hope I don't regret it next winter :). I'm sure the short wheel base has a lot to do with it but I bet it's a lot of fun on a nice twisty road.

I would have thought about getting a Tangerine 20 years ago but when I started looking I knew I would get a black one.

Did you get your shifter installed?
 
I'm going over to my buddy Hectours this weekend to detail his 79' RX7 and while doing that he's going to install the diverter valve and the short throw kit. Its just a small metal part, not the entire shifter.

Installs went flawlessly yesterday! The upgraded diverter valve holds boost better and has metal bits inside compared to the plastic OEM parts.

Then there's the short throw kit...FEELS LIKE A NEW CAR! I can't wait to get in the car and drive it again, more than usual even!! Shorter throw and same height, a win win. The engineers need to drive a car with this done, seriously!

Been seriously thinking about the Road Race Motorsports carted downpipe too. In the meantime, just waiting on the ATM FMIC. Got in on the GB back in February, paid in full and they haven't been completed yet, getting pretty ancy about now. I'm going out of town for Memorial Day weekend and I want to leave my car at my buddy Hectours to have him install it while I'm away, so hope I get it by then! This mod will put the car over the top for sure =========

Interiors are oddly laid out and the car has an abysmal quality rating. Like the worst of any car in America abysmal. I'd have kept the Honda personally..

Or bought a Fiesta ST

The interior layout is odd but it's like when you drive a RHD car with a manual, you get used it shortly. I've read and heard about everything else quality wise and sure it's NO Honda but it has a soul, something not a lot of new cars have, let alone one coating in the mid $20k range and that's before you haggle.

The FIST is a nice car, much more power and those available Recaros are to die for because I fit into them well but like I said, no soul IMO. A "sound imposer", well my car may not have that but it does have an awesome exhaust from the factory, like Kate Upton, all natrualal

I have to say the mods I've had done have REALLY made the difference! I went up against another Abarth today and I'm pretty sure it was stock because I completely blew his door off. First I dropped it into 4th and went at it....really bad and then I left it in 5th and he got a slight jump and then I just got next to him and pulled away!

It's been so long since I've had fun in a car, I couldn't be happier🏁 🇮🇹

They are all supposed to ship out by the 15th. We've been hearing about the horrible weather out east this past winter delaying things, so I'm being VERY patient, trust me, it's hard😔

***UPDATE***

The ATM FMIC is going out on Monday and I'm sure its going to be delivered while I'm out of town, Oh well, something to look forward to when I get home for sure. Now I need to hope my buddy can install it ASAP, I've been a little ancy and who doesn't want more POWAH ===============
