Thinking about trading in the CR-Z for a Fiat 500 Abarth, thoughts?

Well it's been a couple weeks since I got the ATM FMIC installed, as well as having the MAP sensor replaced and everything has been fine. I have also not hammered on the car....why, we'll let's just say I'm waiting for the right time. I almost thought that time was today heading to work where I had a brand new Focus ST behind me, still in the wrappers but he didn't know how to play. I will say this though, in 5th gear the car now just pulls and pulls and pulls, very noticeable 🏁 🇮🇹

It's only a matter of time but the car is once again "a different animal". Next year is going to be the hi-flow downpipe/cat and once again it's going to change!

Glad to hear the positive report Roger! I was waiting to hear how you were making out and your thoughts :)

You have a little time. But I am glad yo hear the car's running good :dblthumb2:

I may be taking a road trip to pick up a brand new, unused 28 MM rear sway bar. It's about 1 hour 50 minutes away, gotta see what the price is going to be because I have to factor in cost of a tank of gas and hopefully he can install it while I'm there as I'm not mechanically inclined.

Stay "tuned" =========

I drove an Abarth in Schaumburg last week. I was impressed with how fun it was to drive, and it was actually not horribly cramped inside. But at almost 30k...... Yikes, especially with the awful resale value. So, I am including used ones in my next car search. Anything to avoid? It is currently mid pack for cars for Billy. Subaru twins are at the top, along with another Miata, and Genesis Coupe like Monica's.

First off the car is waaaay too much at $30k! I mean I understand msrp's but noone pays full price for one of these cars anymore, so that's the first thing to look for. Mine was a demo w/ 1827 miles on it and it was $19k and the msrp was almost $28k, loaded expect leather (which I would've really wanted over the sunroof and GPS for sure)

I would avoid 12's just because its the first year for the ones here and if it still has the stock tires on there expect them to be bad and show wearing on the inside of the shoulders, its not the alignment but the tires. Both myself and my buddy had the tires showing this wear at about 5k. I have since replaced the tires because at about 13k they were wiped out.

The car is a blast to drive, I look forward to walking out to my car everyday, that's something I haven't felt since I had my 07' MINI. The car has its quirks but that's apart of its character and these cars are all about character. Sure the FiST is faster out of the box and quieter and many like that but again, character. Your Sooby choices are fine choices because of the rock solid AWD systems and POWAH! That said, the new Soobies look very bland, like their entire line of cars, nothing stands out. Its the car a commercial could use when needing a generic car for a commercial where a car is needed....IMO. That said though, maybe you want/need/like the security of AWD where you live and for that I have no argument.

The Genesis is great looking car, more high end looking/feeling and has a great warranty, can't go wrong there. These cars seem to be pretty mod friendly, well, the 4 banger anyways which is the only one I'd consider, even if the V6 has so much more power. Because this car is RWD is obviously going to perform differently than my car or the Soobies.

How soon are you looking to get another car?

Oh, BTW, the guy is asking $125 for the bar and some gas $$$ to meet me somewhere to drop it off, so I think I'm just going to buy it brand new for $180 and have it delivered straight to my buddy Hectours house and get it installed there, just not worth it to drive 4hrs round trip to save $60.00. I will have this bar installed before the Dragon run and can't wait for the run this year which is in 68 more days:props:

FYI- they don't make my version anymore. 2014 was the last year they had the 2.0T. They only offer the 3.8 now.

I agree- a little more money for a brand new one delivered right to you. No brainer :xyxthumbs:

My ABARTH

So I asked my buddy Hectour to install my 28mm NueF rear sway bar. It took him less time to do that than it took me to do his DD, LOL.

I did a DG RW, then an OptiClay towel wipe and used FrankenDetailer for a drying aid on his 14' Mazda 3. I added a fresh coat of TW tire coating but it didn't really need it as they were still matte black from an application 6 weeks ago! I just can't get over how good this stuff is!

Let us know how it feels :xyxthumbs:

It does feel more planted which is what I'm supposed to feel. Going back home early tomorrow morning so I'll be putting 700 miles on the car in the next couple days.

49 days till the Dragon ======
