Thinking about trading in the CR-Z for a Fiat 500 Abarth, thoughts?

The TPMS sorted itself out, seems that having my extra set of sensors from the red wheels on the passenger side floormat made the P/S front wheel to show 10.1 psi, which it didn't actually have because I checked it before hand, LOL! The next day on my way to work about 10 minutes into my trip the light turned itself off, so its all good now.

As far as the wheels go I'm going to see if the wheel can be repaired and if so, I will relay that info on to their next owner, I'm kinda leary to put them back on. There's a guy in the hood here with a gray Abarth, so I'm going to try and sell him the 3 wheels for $300 and him know about the 4th wheel either way. If the wheel is indeed bad I will let him know a new wheel can be had for $280 per, so a set of custom, unique rims for under $600 total.

Stay "tuned"!

I missed this! Sorry about the crack. I guess it was meant to be? Or not be in this case.
I'm glad the TPMS sorted itself out... They usually do.

I am a FIRM believer in the saying "everything happens for a reason" and with all the back and fourth with the red wheels and looking to change this and that to make it work. Then something happens to help you with the decision and that's what happened here.

I hope to be able to sell off my 3 wheels because I literally don't have the room for them. The money for them will be put to the side and goes towards having my stock wheels refinished in the PVD coating, something a few shades darker than I have now. The winter wheels are inexpensive so that's not a problem.

I'm supposed to have the plugs changed out today and will be adding Chevron fuel injection cleaner added to the tank, with today's modern car there's no need for the "Italian tune up" anymore🇮🇹

These are taken from yesterday, first one is no flash and sitting the ground:

I actually did a search on Ebay for Abarth wheels and the first ones that come up are ones done in the PVD coating. They are $595 and located back home in the D. Can't quite swing the extra money right now because we have our daughters baptism coming up and the banquet afterwards but in time it will all be sorted out. There's still a chance I might change out the stripes though and give the car a new look but maybe that will be next year when I actually get the wheels coated. I think at that point, with the darker wheels and matte black stripes with the red chaser stripes that I will really need to get the black head and parking lights, not to mention the tails. There's still some chrome in the head and parking lights so they aren't all black, same with the tails, the red will still be there. I guess we'll have to wait and see, love having options to change the car around when I see fit.

I was thinking that when and if Ido the double matte black stripes with red chasers on the top and bottoms only, that I might have an area cut out on the side stripes and have it say ABARTH in red to match the chasers.....thoughts?

BTW what do you guys think of the custom centercap decals? The guy at Discount Tire thought they were OEM and I said "thank you, that's what I was going for there!"

Took my car to have my buddy Hectour change out the plugs. Its suggested to change them out @36K but it's been suggested to do them @30IK and I'm glad I did. They looked to be in pretty good shape but the car feels more responsive and smoother, not that I had a problem before but you can feel the difference! I'm thinking 25K next time though, really like the feeling.

Btw I bought these plugs with 3K on them because the guy did a tune on a brand new Abarth that called for colder plugs, so I bought them for $15.00 instead of $100👍👍

...oh yeah lunch afterwards, half slab of ribs, sweet potato mash, REAL mash potatoes, hot pickles and my drink (half unsweetened tea and lemon shake up)

Love those wheels :xyxthumbs:
I've never been a fan of having what your car is plastered on it. Just me. I love how subtle it is right now.
The center caps are on point :coolgleam:

I always did them at 30k intervals in the MINIs.
Nice buy!

Yum! That's what I'm talking about!

Yeah I agree Monica, I think I just got carried away with the red wheels and it ultimately bit me in the end. I still may change out the stripes but that would be next year after I get the wheels coated but to finish it properly, I need those black headlights and then the car will be just mean as hell looking, it would almost feel like a new car.

Even though this is my DD it also doubles as my toy and I've been kicking the idea around of getting plaid inserts for the seats, door rests and sun visors, what do you think about this? Keep in mind this is about 2 years down the road.

The center caps are a nice touch. It's almost similar to the age old question of - to debadge or not to debadge. IMO - those are awesome center caps and you should keep them.

Oh they are staying for sure, might even put them on my winter wheels as well....well, when I get them in November. The centercaps will stick out even more on darker wheels, thus making them even more impressive, IMO

It's pretty much stock now except I have a cue ball shift knob (not a real one but same color), powered by Abarth emblem, leather shift boot with red stitching and racing stripe from the outside the goes over the painted part of the passenger side dash.

I tried to get the black housing lights for the car today but the deal didn't work out. I was going to meet the owner of a shop I've been getting the majority of parts from half way, which was a 577 mile drive and almost 9 hrs. I know it's extreme but I was up to the task, "road warrior" was my old nickname when I worked at the Lotus dealership back in the day.

The deal didn't work because of the drive for sure but also because he was looking for $475 as well. My counter offer was to give him the wheels I bought off of him last year as a trade, no can do but he appreciated the offer and would keep me in mind if something would change.

Had this worked out I would've had to leave Sat morning @ 3 a.m. and drive down there to arrive by noon and probably leave by 2 p.m. after the install and drive home, arriving back around midnight, 21 hrs. Hardcore, kinda but I like road trips anyways.

I do not have the 360 because I didn't feel I needed to be able to spray upside down, lol!
