Im a bit in the middle between the two options i want to apply to my car next weekend.

I have nattys blue/red wax, i used it this past fall and enjoyed it very much.. Shine, depth, slickness, and protection was very good to me.

I have been reading the great reviews on the Chemical guys Blacklight and V7 combo, and it has gotten me interested.
Not sure if it will give me that look i was enjoying with nattys wax, wanted to get some opinions on it and if its worth dropping my wax for it.

My car is always garaged and does about 5K miles a year, 2009 BMW M5 with sapphire black metallic paint.
Washed weekly, and i wax it a few times a year to keep it looking good.

I have been reading about how great sealants protect the paint and how waxes tend to lose power in hot weather. In NY temps get to about 90*F in the summer, and being that my car is black im sure my wax takes a beating in the summer.

Any input between the two would be much aprreciated.
Like i said, i dont mind applying a product a few times a year as the car is garaged and only driven 5K miles a year.

Here is my car from this past late summer, many thanks to the abundance of grat info on this forum!

Polished with M105 ( red pad) and M205 on white pad
Nattys blue wax

After stripping the wax in the fall via CG citrus wash at stripping dillution, i used some nattys red wax:

I think what you have is better than the Blacklight V07 combo.

I don't think you will see the longevity out of the CG combo that you will expect.

I use the CG combo but I treat the Blacklight like a glaze and the V07 like a quick detailer more than a spray sealant. If you want different look I would highly recommend you take a look and Blackfire Wet Diamond Paint sealant. You will get a nice wet look and get about 6 month of protecting with proper maintenance.

V07 does make a great detailer for in between washes and after washes.

The "look" of blacklight and V7 will be insane. You will probably fall in love with it.

Then, you'll be really disappointed in how long it lasts, and spend forever chasing that look down.

V7 looks great on blacklight, but neither V7 or blacklight will get you far. Maybe a month tops. They just don't last, unfortunately.

You can try blacklight/wax/v7 topper and see how long it gets you.

I have Blackfire wet diamond in my garage, i use it on my daily driver. I thought i could get a better look with blackhole+ nattys wax or CG blacklight+V7, that is really why i never put it on my BMW.

Thanks!

Interesting, i thought it would last longer, in that case i will probably just stick with the Poorboys blackhole glaze and nattys wax

Thanks!

2 coats Blacklight, coat of wax, Hybrid V07 as spray detailer here and there. Has lasted since November. Recent pic after quick wash last week.

I can get a beading pic on Monday. Water literally sheets off still.

Looks good!
I get confused... People top Blaclight with wax which i understand, but the V7 is a quick sealant detailer, how does it bond to the wax, if at all? Or the V7 only lasts that wash?

In my experience, v7 usually lasts thru 1 wash, not the second. CG hypes it as a sealant, it might be that only in the fact that it's synthetic in nature, not necessarily long lasting.

To me, it does excel as a drying agent that adds a bit of pop at the end of a wash.

:iagree:

Its a great topper for OC too. :xyxthumbs:

Blacklight is an okay product but highly overrated. Black Hole and White Diamond are wonderful show car glazes.

Stick with the Blackhole - Nattys combo.

I've used Blacklight for years and love it. It is one of the best products that I've used. I use it as an AIO and a polish and aways end up with a great finish. I will top it with a wax or sealant and use the V7 as a quick detaier between waxes. I have had great luck and it seems to last. Blacklight can be used as a AIO, but I normally top it and use it as a polish.

Since you have BlackFire WD, might i suggest Blackfire BlackICE over BF WD? BlackICE is pretty dam amazing on black, especially with paint being in excellent shape...CG Blacklight and V7 was an excellent combo but just didn't last long enough...

Lil pricey for the wax, im a non believer in really expensive waxes when i get the look i want with much cheaper waxes.

What about EZ creme instead of blacklight? That would be interesting. I do have V7 and to be honest is a nice product but compared to carpro reload in my case has zero chances of winning. Since I tried it I am going back. I have also found V7 to attract more dust too.

Quick question as you tried them both: what difference did you notice between Nattys Blue and Nattys Red?

I've not used the Chemical Guys products, but I have been very happy with Black Hole.

I applied it last fall on my black car and covered it with Collinite 845. The results were amazing. Not only did it look good, but applying the Black Hole was very easy. I puposely applied the stuff in broad sunlight to test Poorboys' claims and true to their word the whole process was effortess.

V07 bonds to the wax with no issues at all. As for comments about lasting one wash, I disagree completely. I use it maybe once a month during winter, and still have great protection, gloss, and beading; even after the salt.

Here is small comparison i did a while back.
