I understand the concept (as well as read the articles) on do a test spot with the least aggressive product first and work from there.
Would I start with the Swirl Remover and if not getting the results then work with a more agressive pad? if still no results, then go to the Uber Compound? Or do I start with the finishing glaze? or does the finishing glaze go after you do the above 2?
After correcting (the above steps per your instruction)? would i use the polish enhancer? does this fully prep the paint for a LSP? Also does it replace doing an IPA wipedown? Is it like CarPros eraser?
I know its alot of questions, but i want to do it right?

It depends on your car and how bad it is when you start. Generally you will use Uber with a cutting pad, TSR with a polish pad, and FG with a finishing pad. However, TSR can take care of a lot on a cutting pad IME. If you have noticeable swirls, IME FG won't touch them - and may actually hide them. Call it glazing or paint swelling - it's just what I've seen with my own two eyes.

So, if you have visible swirls or defects, I'd probably start with TSR on a white pad (assuming LC CCS/flat pads as an example). Then, if it doesn't work, bump it up to an orange pad. TSR is a "swirl remover", it does just that - a compound may not be necessary. You can also vary your technique to make your combo more aggressive as well.

If your polishing you don't really need PPE. It's a paint cleaner, the main job of it is to remove old wax. It does have a glazing component - which you probably won't benefit from if you polish correctly. Your polishing will remove old wax. Some people will use it, but if you want a glaze after you polish there are better options out there IME (Pooorboys / Amigo / Wet Glaze). It's just another step where you could possibly put towel marks in your freshly polished paint.

If your car is way jacked up, you may need Uber on a MF pad, or possibly a cutting foam pad. You will likely have to follow with one of the two WG lesser aggressive polishes. Which one? You won't know until you try.

I have a lot of time behind the WG system and it's very good.

Ok, now with that you said i can formulate a begining game plan.
So after using say TSR/Uber and it clears everything up, then I can go write to the coating?
No IPA? and No Eraser because Polishing removed the wax, correct?

My truck is in very good condition. I noticed some new scratches today when washing it, nothing crazy, real light. How can I post Pics? I take pics on my S3 and they are like 2 plus gigs?
 
yes polishing removed your wax or whatever was there. what coating are you using? you should always use a prep polish or eraser/ipa wipe before any coating is applied.

From what you describe TSR on a polishing pad would be a good place to start.

But, a coating afterwards is a whole other ball game. These polishes will not leave a coating ready surface. Ask me how I know...

You have to follow the manufacturer's instruction on how to prep for a coating once polished. If your using OptiCoat - I strongly recommend Optimum's line of polishes instead. If the manufacturer gives no prep instructions, I wouldn't use that coating.

If your using an AG coating, I would use it's specific prep "polish". It's not real a polish per-se, as it's non abrasive. It removes any "remnants" from the surface and primes the paint to accept the coating.

If your using most other coatings that don't have a specific prep polish AND using WG polishes, I would re-wash the car with a stripping shampoo and do an IPA 25% wipe down. Or if C Quartz, use Eraser and not IPA.

But that is just my experience.
 
I am not doing OC, I want to feel that slickness. I have thought about Cuk but 22ple keeps sparking my interest. Ok , now i understand a little more about the steps to "prep" it with these specific products. I cant promise I wont have more, but thank you very much

Stephen has given you good advice, so listen to him first!

By prep polish I meant something that removes the oils from your polishes on your cars surface. Like DP Paint Prep or Eraser. :dblthumb2: sorry if that confused.
 
I just used for the first time today WG finishing glaze on the wife's 2008 sable I clayed glazed, one coat jet seal 109 and topped with my favorite collinite 845. Just needed a cleaning from this tough winter here in jersey I will finish it up tomorrow. Stuff works good used my flex 3401 with a lake country finish pad.:buffing:
 
If TSR removes any swirls that may be there and gives the finish a flawless finish as far as that, could there be a haze left behind though?
If there is a haze, are there any WG products that would work? Note that I am hearing mixed reviews about using FG because I am prepping for a coating and this would be "working backwards"

I'm in the same boat so to speak. If I do Wolfgang TSR, then FG, do I need the Paintwork polish enhancer before I apply the sealant?
