Hello guys, this is my basic exterior detail that i have posted below, my question is.. Do you guys think i should replace the spray wax/sealant with an actual machine applied wax/sealant? And also charge a little more? Or should i just make an extra service that includes the machine applied wax/sealant.. I guess the theory would be to offer some protection for a cheaper price.. And for my clients to have a few options to choose from

Express Exterior Detail

•100% Quality Hand Wash
•Dry Car with Premium Grade Chamois
•Clean Wheels
•Clean Wheel Wells
•Dress Tires
•Apply Spray Wax/ Spray Paint Sealant*
•Clean Windows
•Wipe Door Jambs
•Final Inspection

Cars: $50.00
Trucks: $55.00
SUV’s: $60.00

Price is spot on. Use ONR for washes. Its actually much better and safer than car wash soap. Not to mention how much faster it is. Plus it has water softeners in it to prevent against water spots. Also buy a metro blaster (any of them will work) to dry the car thoroughly. Replace your chamois with quality waffle weave towels and you are good to go. Are you mobile?

I'll say...stick with the spray wax. Time is money and you can have the machine applied sealant/wax as an add on :)

Whats an ONR? I just checked out the metro blaster sidekick.. It looks like a neat little tool.. Ill deffenitely check it out soon.. Especially for the cracks and windshield wiper area, and i also agree on upgrading to a waffle weave towel.. I will probably be getting the guzzler.. I believe thats what its called.. So u think i should include the machine applied wax/sealant as an add on? I would have to include decontaminating the paint also because i wouldnt feel comfortable using a machine with out doing that step first

I will consider it, i previously had it as an add on for the express exterior detail.. But i would think the clients would get kind of confused since most would rather have their cars protected with a longer ladting product

Thanks guys! That seems like a good idea to tackle a few steps in one pass.. I have never done a rinseless wash before so i am sort of sceptical.. How will it perform on cars that are heavily soiled, as all cars will not be in the same condition.. Or even cars with minor dusting? Wouldnt that cause random swirls?

Guzzlers are awesome...if you are a hobbyist. They are WAYYY too expensive for detail businesses. Plenty of other quality options out there for a fraction of the price. I will inbox you the good places to get towels for professionals. A quality spray wax will suffice. You want washes to be quick but you also want to do a good job.

I may have to raise my prices. I do almost all of that for much less

•100% Quality Hand Wash
•Dry Car with Premium Grade Chamois
•Clean Wheels
•Clean Wheel Wells
•Dress Tires
•Final Inspection

I do all of this for $5

That's because you are doing lot cars for dealers. may I ask why?

I will do this for a private retail customer and I know I am way too low on price

Rinseless wash and dry
Clean wheels
wheel wells
dress tires
quick detailer
Final inspection

$10

This price is for a small car only like a Toyota Corolla, Honda Fit , no SUV or truck

I need to add a few more steps and raise my prices up near Prestige Detail

Wow!!! $5 dollars??? I know dealers are cheap but this takes the cake. Do yourself a favor and at a minimum quadruple your price. If they complain simply explain the free ride is over. These dealers know the cost of doing business and it's not $5

When I had my mobile business, I was getting these prices on a regular basis.

Wash:
This included hand wash, wheels, tires, fender wells, glass and vacuum, tires dressed.
Cars = $20
Small SUV = $30
Large SUV and Trucks = $40
I can usually knock out the car in less than 20 minutes.
If they wanted a coat of wax, it was double. Never had a customer balk at the price because I was offering a service of convenience.

I have stopped into a school in another town and had 15 vehicles to do and the front desk would have all the keys and checks waiting. I did that every Wednesday on a schedule so they knew I was coming. I would call over on Monday to make sure we had enough to make the trip.

I would say a lot of guys are selling themselves short on the mobile side. The customer is paying for convenience and if you offer superior quality, they will keep calling you back.

HUMP

Don't add any steps, just raise your price...or at least remove some steps (quick detailer).
