Audi TT Full Correction (Day Four - Final)

Amazing job. Was awesome to follow your work on this vehicle.

Great job, looks like 37 hours well spent, that paint is DEEP,

Looks fantastic to me and I agree with others that the photos are good as well. Thanks for sharing the work.

Trust me, this car is far from perfection. The paint was too damaged to get everything out. But it certainly looks a lot better than it did! Everyone has their opinions on Sonax Perfect Finish, but to me it is amazing on Rupes yellow pad or Rupes white pad. It tends to clog pads so don't use much. 3 dime size drops are enough the first time, then one drop when you move on. I run it on speed 5 for maybe 3 passes. The "chrome" reflection look is Swissvax Mystery...hands down my favorite wax on black.

Thanks for answering, I know I should try it myself, however I'm just having time to do customers cars and I have never tested a 'controversy' product on a customer's car at first before doing it on my own. Need to get a test panel...

I'll keep your tips of low quantity and passes and see how can I evolve from that.

Also, appreciate the comment on wax,

Kind Regards.

Products that work really well tend to be "controversial". Sonax Perfect Finish is a perfect example. Where is the evidence that it should only be used on a rotary? I have used it on dozens of vehicles using Rupes polishers on Rupes yellow or white pads with great success. I have heard rumors that it has "glaze like filling characteristics". I have tested this on my own vehicles and found no evidence of it. Even if that was true, should we all avoid Swissvax Cleaner Fluid Regular as well?

37 hours My god, sounds like an expensive detail

Great work

Was this a jeweling step?

I would not call it jeweling...that is usually done with a rotary. Rupes Ultra Diamond on Rupes white pad will squeeze out every possible last bit of gloss. Maybe more like burnishing?

He decided to restore the car rather than buy a new one. What he paid me is chicken-feed-money compared to what he put into it mechanically.

Wow. As an owner of a black car I know how much the owner must be loving the detail you did. Amazing work!

That's very nice of you. Audi black is fun to work on. Hard enough to withstand some "treatment", soft enough to finish down nicely.

You do great work! Hands down:)

I appreciate that. It really was a monumental effort to save this car. I was very fortunate to get the results that I did. When the paint laughs at Rupes and Megs cutting disks with Rupes Zephire, you know you're in trouble. No way I could have done it without wet-sanding. 3M Trizact really saved the day on this one.

I don't think I ever seen a black car look this dark.
Nice work my friend.

Swissvax Mystery is my favorite wax on black. It will squeeze every last bit of depth out of black ***IF*** the paint is properly prepared. Otherwise you are wasting your money.

That looks fantastic!! I know all about that paint..He who questions the time it took, has probably never worked with that paint. If I had 10 thumbs, they'd all be up on the finished results of that TT.

How much area could you cover with the 3000 and the 5000 until you had to grab a fresh disc?
