I am new to this forum so bare with me. I purchased a new 2013 grey sterling metallic ford f-150 and was wondering if this wax would do good for this color? Thought about trying #476 or #915 but prefer liquid (845). Also can you top collinite with another wax for more pop in shine and if so what would you guys suggest?

Start off with 1-2 layers of 845 (preferably 2). At that point, you have what you have and can then determine if more is needed in terms of pop. For durability you are probably for at least 90-days; assuming you use the F150 for hauling.

If you want more pop, then 915 would do it for sure, with less durability than 845.

If you want more durability then 476 would do it, with less gloss/pop from either of the above.

My go-to topper is Optimum Spray Wax.

Thank you so much for that info! That is a big help and will try that for sure. Hopefully will be able to have some pics after I get done. Thanks again!

On their web site they list durability #1 476 #2 915 #3 845 (under Faq's)

It's the bees knees, all I use 2 coats good for 6 months.

The only thing I would top Collinite with is more Collinite.

I used 476 thru the winter with great results. The roof still beads 8 mths later. I say run 476 on the roof because you don't see it really and you get superior protection... Plus you don't need pop up there. You need protection, IMO

Top it with another coat of the 845, let cure than hit it with some Duragloss Auqawax , .Bam, big time shine with lots of protection:

I emailed colly today and they said 2-24hrs wait on the second coat application

Hateswirls, i had read that dg auqawax is really good for a shine booster. Was wondering if you apply with car wet or dry because I read comments on both? Which do you recommend?

Works great as a drying aid, plus it does boost up the shine.
My favorite use with it is after a rinse-less was I simply mist just a little and wipe it then buff it to a high gloss, like I said in another thread I never used a product that leaves the paint as slick as the 951 does plus it's cheaper and a bottle goes further than the Meguiar's.
Might just be me but this is my favorite product of all that I own and I have a lot of products.

Works good on glass too, after I clean the glass I hit it with some DG, repels water as good as Rain-X, might not last as long but it's so easy to appy. :dblthumb2:

For years I used Meguiar's Ultimate Quick wax and detailer but doesn't compare to the Duragloss Aquawax 951

As long as you have good technique (applying it real thin) 915 is still easy to use, by hand or machine. I'd rather do one pass with 915 than two separate processes, especially considering you'll have as much "pop" as you would with 845 followed by a topper, with no waiting for curing times.
