Does anyone use yellow (LC) pads for serious correction? Or do most people go straight to microfiber cutting pad or purple foam wool and skip the yellow?

As weekend warrior and relativley new to paint correction. I am trying to hone my skills. I have only completed two vehicles. I haven't needed any pad more aggressive than the orange thus far. Is there a place in your arseanl for the yellow pad or do you get better results with other the other types listed above?

Yellow pad cuts pretty well and finishes very good. It doesn't have the cut of MF pads, though.

I use Yellow pads only because I don't have access to compressed air. Yellow pads have done a great job for me on everything I needed it for.

Well IMO I have used the yellow pad before. I prefer MF or Wool when doing such heavy cut.

"this is just my current opinion"

I used a yellow hybrid yesterday.....:buffing:

I like yellow pads! I've used them when I didn't want to deal MF pads.

Yellow pads & Menzerna Power Finish produce an outstanding 1 step

You can use a pad brush if you don't have access to compressed air.

Don't tell me that, I might have to spend more money on stuff I don't really need :)

Depends on your needs. MF pads cut a whole lot faster/better than Y pads w/o micro-marring. Just use the right polish. So, yes, I 've given up on Yellow and now use MF or Scholl's Purple foam for serious correction, Orange for light/medium correction, then White/Black/Grey/Red/Gold... for finishing/jewelling.
