This detail was booked before the owner had even purchased the car, and so when it arrived the day after he collected it I could quite possibly have been more excited than he was

Day 1
Inspection on delivery

Arches: Cyclo APC / Mothers Fender Well Brush / HP Rinse / Glossworx - Extreme Tyre Shine (This is a definite winner in my books so far. A little goes a long way and the spray pattern of the bottle it comes in assists here. Its priced really well at R108/500ml and it left the arches looking good.)
Tires: Glossworx Wheel and Tire Cleaner / Mothers Tire Brush / 2 coats Optimum Optibond Tire Gel
Wheels: Glossworx Wheel and Tire Cleaner / Daytona Jnr / Various brushes/ Autoglym Intensive Tar Remover / APC rinse / AF Iron Out / Daytona Jnr / HP Rinse / Flooding Rinse / Menzerna Powerlock
Door shuts, window rubbers, fuel flap, badges: Cyclo APC / Various Brushes / HP Rinse / Collinite 845 / Chemical Guys Pete'53
Wash: Chemical Guys Maxisuds II via foam cannon / Glossworx Shampoo / 2BM with Lambswool wash mitt / Rinse
Dry: ONR at QD strength / WW Drying towel / Compressed Air
Decontamination : Autoglym Fine Grade Clay / ONR at clay lube strength - I decided not to use any tar or iron remover for possible side effects on the decals.

Kyle was then kind enough to come around and let me test drive his PTG. The following readings were taken in microns:

Roof - min 102, max 135, avg 110
Bonnet - min 107, max 450, avg 250
Driver fender - min 130, max 265, avg 200
Driver door -min 87, max 185, avg 150
Driver rear panel - min 110, max 172, avg 134
Passenger fender - min 142, max 247, avg 210
Passenger door - min 127, max 195, avg 150
Passenger rear panel - min 80, max 183, avg 140

With the paint now decontaminated it was easy to capture the water spots

I then set about taping up - this was a tedious process and took well over 3 hours to complete

Total time spent = 40 hours

Thanks for looking and as always any comments or questions are welcome

Excellent work on that Porsche you restored its beauty while adding horsepower

Utterly fantastic job, Lawrence! Is this the one that you asked advice for? If so, I think I spot my often-said advice that there is nothing better than the HT Crimson pad and SF4500 on Porsche paint (in my case the "dreaded" PBP - Porsche black paint). It looks so good on this beautiful blue!

Thanks for sharing. It's always great to view your work. Happy detailing! :dblthumb2:

Whoa, incredible work and dedication to that job Lawrence! There was a lot of tedious taping to accomplish and you took care of it. Nicely done!

I'm sure the owner was ecstatic and couldn't believe the outcome! Hopefully you get some referral work from him.

Looks good buddy!

Wow. That tape job. Crazy. Nicely done.
Thank you. Yes the tape job was a bit of a nightmare, but at least I got to practice my taping skills so there is still some positive in it....

Excellent work!
Thank you so much Mike.

Beautiful!
Thanks.

Incredible work as always Lawrence!

Thanks Ryan. Yes this is the same one I asked advice for and like mentioned in that thread, I wish I had some SF4500. I had to settle on SF4000 for this one but still with the crimson pad. It is a combo I have used fairly often, especially on softer paints and love it. I can only imagine the amount of pop from the SF4500. I must be honest, I really enjoyed working on this paint. Corrects really easily and didn't have the 'stickiness' issues I have been experiencing on the Subarus. The wing and bumpers were a lot harder than the rest of the car, as they had some spray work done. Hand polishing the wing and engine cover was no joke.
