Cardaddy - Surgical date... FINALLY!!!

Good to hear you have found a great Dr and hospital to work with, better days are coming for you.

Thanks Meghan.:dblthumb2:
We need those better days, way too many things to make shiny-n-slick. ;)

Best of luck, I go Monday for my neck!

Oh I feel ya' there brother!
Fought my neck for YEARS! Heck I was driving a rollback with a C-collar on sometimes for months at a time. I need mine done a second time now, truth be known.

What they don't tell you is they screw that halo into your skull. I remember the nurse came into the room and I had a pounding headache, reached up and felt "crunchies" in my hair and a big knot on my head. She asked if I was feeling OK and I told her I thought someone must have dropped me, banged my head on something getting me off the operating table.

She looked at me and said; "Oh honey, they didn't drop you, that's where they SCREWED the bolts into your head."
Say WHAT!!!:nomore:

Finally!!!!!!!

So happy to hear this Tony! I hope this is the fix you need and can get you back on your feet again.

Yeah... FINALLY!!!!!!!!!!

As much as I hate buffing rocker panels and doors, and exhaust tips, and bumpers..... I'll be smiling like crazy once I get down to that again!

Got waaaaaay too many (brand new) towels around here these days that need using. ;)

You will be in my thoughts and prayers!

Good luck from your oger twin!

Thanks Tim!
Oh... CarMomma said the debit machine was on the fritz at the Post Office the other day. Your package is at her office.... should have gone out today on her title run.

I'm gonna' get CarBoy to put the DG Enviroshield on the 4Runner. (Even if it means I have to take his keys away to get it done!!!!!!!!!!)

Good luck Cardaddy.

Wish you a speedy recovery.

You know Steve, I was thinking we should have a show of hands.... how many of us have had some sort of back surgery vs. how many haven't. About now I'm thinking the "haves" have it!

You know..... with the power of prayer from this place, WOW.... that's something really powerful when you think about it. I mean really think about it. WOW!!!

I saw miracles with my Mom. They gave her a 99.2% chance of making it less than 30 days, 45 TOPS. Finally the doctors admitted that they'd been lying to her, that they didn't have any answers. Something about a 'team', about everything that MAN knows is in "black and white". The books, the reports, the schooling, the tests, all the education of man. Then there was a day when here oncologist, a man that deals death every day of his life..... showed emotion, with first a tear, then another tear down the other side. He admitted, and asked for her forgiveness, saying that they'd been lying to her. She just smiled, held his hand, and said "Honey, I know.... but it's OK, it'll all be OK." He almost totally lost it that day.

That was MY Mother!

We had her for 4 years, 5 months before she went on to be with her Father, my Granddaddy. But it was ONLY after he passed (not 2 weeks later) that she gave up, or should I say.... she said she was READY. And she didn't have anything any different that we do here. But she DID have "the faith of a grain of mustard seed".

And enough of that....

I now return you to your regular channel. :buffing:

Well, I just had surgery 3 weeks ago. I returned to work on Monday. I had a lamenectomy. Drilled the vertebrae around the nerve roots to relieve some of the pressure. I also had a herniation that he fixed while in there. I know how you feel... Pain in my right leg was so bad at times, I thought I got shot. Right now, I can say I have NO pain in my leg. Just residual soreness in my back from the drilling. I expect you will have the same results. Good luck! Btw, I have been dealing with this pain for over 10 years.

Best of luck and it sounds like you've found some medical professionals you are comfortable with. That's reassuring and i will pray for a speedy and successful recovery for you, my friend.

Wow.... so you did the fusion? From the back with screws and rods. Oh MAN! My regular physiatrist was afraid that's what they would do with me, (which is why he was so against it all). The surgeon I found will do anything he can not to do it that way. He goes from the front if possible, uses a "cage". Although with mine he's having to go from the back. (And hoping it'll not end up with screws and rods.)

I hear you though on dealing with it for YEARS. I've had back and neck pain most of my life, but it wasn't till 98 when I started having lumbar problems that things got really serious. In 02 it'd gotten bad enough to where I couldn't drive a truck all day like I'd been doing for 18 years. Back is one thing, but let that leg go crazy and we're in a different world of hurt!

My wife is so used to me complaining about my back that she sort of brushed it aside in November when I started talking about my RIGHT leg hurting. (Been putting up with the left one forever, it's just never been this bad on the left one.) Next time we'll know I reckon. :dunno:

And getting shot? Pffft.... surely that's not as bad as an exploding leg.

Don't look forward to all the soreness from the surgery though. OMG!
Heck, my low back stays sore to the touch, literally ALL THE TIME. Shake the bed... OWWW. Push with your fingers... OOOOWWWWWW. The gift that keeps on giving!

OTOH, getting some of it better, being able to walk again, THAT is PRICELESS!!!!! :dblthumb2:

A guy at work had the fusion with the screws and rods. He says he feels so much better now. So glad he got it done.

good luck tony with back and speedy recovery

Thanks Bill, Lord knows I'll need it.

Puckman, you're right... I did finally find one I'm comfortable with. He seems extremely confident and well respected in his field. My wife called one day weeks ago, asking if they had ANY cancellations to just call us and we'd make it. They *tried* to move us to another surgeon and seemed offended when she wouldn't accept the offer. (Not to mention it'd only have saved me 2 days over almost 7 weeks of waiting!)

Best of luck CD!

Thanks mate! (From the motherland!) ;)

May God be with you and everyone involved

Thanks Flash, the hand of God is all we can wish for my friend. All we can ask for is, lead, guide & direct.
