Hi, Im new to the forum and professional detailing products. I tried searching the forum and couldn't figure out where to post this so im sorry if this is the wrong place. I have always enjoyed cleaning mine and my families cars but never got into paint correction. I have always felt like I do a better job cleaning up cars than alot of my friends and people I see at the car meets.

Recently I have really been thinking about trying to detail for money. I am hoping it turns out really well because I would like to start up a legitimate detailing business.

So, the reason I am here is to get everyones opinions on my first major purchase for my mobile detailing start up. I have been doing my research for the past week and a half now and i think i have a pretty decent list. I will also be purchasing a PC 7424xp. If anyone has any tips or tricks they would like to throw in I would greatly appreciate it.

Meguiars:

•D120 Glass Cleaner
•D108 Super Degreaser
•D101 A.P.C.
•D155 Last Touch
•D143 Non Acid Wheel Cleaner
•D151 Paint Recoditioning Cream
•M105
•M205

Chemical Guy

•V.R.P. Super Shine (Gallon for tires, interior and exterior plastic)
•EZ Creme Glaze
•Pete's '53
•Black On Black
•V32, V34, V36 and V38 4oz samples (To see if I like them since I will be working in the sun when compounding and polishing. Im not sure how the m105/M205 combo works in those conditions)
•Citrus Wash and Gloss (Gallon)
•Microfiber Wash

Others:

•Collinite Liquid Insulater Wax #845 (2 16oz Bottles)
•Duragloss AquaWax #952 ( Is this necessary? Then use 155 on top?)
•Klasse High Gloss Sealant Glaze
•PC 7424xp
Misc:

•Tire Cleaning Brush
•Grit Guards (2)
•Long handled Flagged tip Wheel/Undercarriage Brush
•5 Gallon Buckets (2)

Please let me know what you guys/gals think. Wheather I should change or add something. Any and all replies will be helpful

Thanks in advance!

If you get klasse sealant, then I would suggest you get klasse all in one. They make a perfect pair.

The rest looks good.

I can see using D151 for one-step details, don't understand why you would buy three different LSP's plus a spray wax.

Do you already have clay or a clay substitute? Microfiber towels? Mitts?

You will also need an assortment of pads for the PC; I'd say at least four of each variety. More is better so you don't have to stop and clean pads.

Welcome to AutogeekOnline! :welcome:

You're on the right forum for friendly people that will help to become successful. Last year at Mobil Tech Expo I had two pro detailers come to me and tell me after reading the articles on our forum and putting into practice the things they learned they both doubled their income.

First guy said he went from $40,000 a year to $80,000.00 a year.
Second guy said he went from $50,000.00 a year to over $100,000.00 a year.

They said what helped them was learning how to upsell show car detailing for big bucks to better clients instead of competing with the majority of detailers doing production work.

This starts with you educating yourself and you do this by reading this forum and then asking questions. Attending my detailing boot camp class is also a good idea as it will flatten out the learn curve dramatically.

Also get my book and Renny Doyle's book, both on the AG store.

I originally wanted to use that combo but I did here some good things about d151 and I can get a gallon of it for a little more than the 33oz Klasse AIO.

I do have clay, MF towels and mitts. One question I had is if d155 last touch and aquawax are basically the same thing. My reasoning for the LSP's.. (Maybe thinking to much into it?) I wanted some products with no cleaners so I could layer for more expensive jobs.

After Full Correction: (most expensive package)
EZ Creme Glaze, Jet Seal 109 (something I left out), Pete's '53 or Collinite liquid wax and then aquawax or last touch at the end.

Second Best:
D151, Klasse High Gloss Sealant Glaze, Collinite liquid wax and last touch.

Just washing:
Main reason for the aquawax is that I will hit the car with a spray wax if the customer only asks for a wash.

I am ordering the 6pack LC flat pads from AG. (2) orange (2) white and (2) grey. The PC7424 package I am buying comes with one pad of each variety. Should I buy flat pads or the ones with the dimples?

That mustang looks great! The V line of polishes are what I originally wanted to go with but everyone says to get used to using 105/205 because it's the god of compounds and polishes lol. How would you compare the V36/V38 to the 105/205? Maybe get V34 instead of V36? And as for the "cut" of wash and gloss. It should be fine for wax as long as it is used one ounce per 3 or 4 gallons of water right?

welcome to AGO.

i have not used any of the products you are getting, so i cant comment on them. i use the GTechniq, Wolfgang and Menzerna line of products. im sure they will all work just fine as many people on here use them and like them.

I also use WG and Menz almost exclusively. Have you used CQUK? If so, how does GTechniq compare in terms of application, gloss, water shedding, band durability?

I haven't used CQUK. So I can't compare it to that. Most of thier products are pretty straight forward. The only one that will give you trouble is the EXO. Other than that they are good to go

What I like about hte V line is that it does not leaves bad residue like other products from what I hear often (I mean like small beads of products). Remember V32 is a heavy cutting compound, V34 is medium, V36 is for light, and V 38 is the polisher. I just have the V 34,36,38 since "Pegasus" has medium swirl marks. Just have to shake the bottle really good in order to get the product mixed together. I got an empty 2L bottle and put some premixed soap so that way I can actually just pour it into my foam cannon and get down to business! It is a hassle to get the soap mixed in with the water.
