I am DVR recording a majority of the games. My guess, is that I think Brazil, Spain, Italy and Argentina might be the final 4 teams. Maybe Portugal or Italy. Messi is playing for Portugal...way cool.
As for the US.....I think they are already out of the 1st round. They have to play Germany and Portugal in the 1st round....OUCH!!!
Either way it is going to be fun!!!!

I will be, Mike. My daughter powered her way through college on a soccer scholarship (very proud) so there's lots of smelly cleats in my past.

I wasn't a big fan until I came to Germany the first time. After watching the games that were on TV as they played in Germany in 2006 I was hooked!
Hopefully the U.S. makes it farther than that.
I am of German descent. I feel home being stationed in Germany, driving my BMW on the Autobahn, and polishing it up with Menzerna and Flex.

I like My Flex and Menzerna stuff too!!!....LOL But even though I am rooting for the US....IMO they are not even going to make it out of the 1st round because of powerhouses Germany and Portugal. I know the 1st round has the top 2 teams advancing. I can't see how the US will beat those 2.
So now I am joining the bandwagon...go Brazil!!!!!....LOL

In their group Germany and Portugal 2 Powerhouses. I believe Nigeria is in the group too. I think the US can beat them.....I hope they can move to the next round but I am in agreement with you. They will be home early.

Huge soccer fan here. Played my whole life and coach a high school JV team currently.
Go USA! But rooting for Brazil if we don't make it out our group.. I was lucky enough to play in Brazil and it's something that I'll never forget!!

You mean messi is playing for Argentina.
I've played soccer competitively my whole life and love the World Cup but the diving and flopping is ruining the sport. It also gives the sport a bad reputation for being filled with nothing but sissies who fall down every time they make contact with the opposing team's leg hair.
With that being said, I can't wait to see how it plays out. Germany is supposedly bringing their A game this year.

Couldn't agree more ,Killa. Flipping is ruining what's going on in the sport these days. Everybody is high and mighty on Neymar but he's some serious growing up to do if he's going to follow in the shoes of Ronaldihno and the like. Yes he scored 2 yesterday, one he miss hit and the other was a PK that should have been stopped anyway. Brazil does have a good bracket and 2nd round match ups but they will fold when they play a good team. Everybody cracking on the US drives me crazy! So negative. Will they get out of their group? Doubt it but come on, they have the #2 and 3 teams in their bracket (Portugal is overrated bc of Ronaldo). I grew up playing with a few of the current US guys from 12 years old at regional camo to u-20 national team and professionally after college, and are still good friends with 2 of them. Their take on it is that this is their 2nd round. If they make it out of the group, they'll have shocked the world and wouldn't play anybody as difficult in the 2nd round.
Germany is ridiculous and could beat the majority of teams with their B side. But they have no forwards right now. Argentina needs a defense, Spain is hit or miss depending on who stays healthy. But I've heard no one mention the sleeper team that will probably be in the semis...Belgium. You'd have to follow soccer a good bit to know their players bc they aren't superstars but they all play on huge teams and have been killing people lately. That being said I'll always be a US supporter, but Id like to see Messi hoist that trophy. He's going to have to play like the best player in the world that he is and drag Tina kicking and screaming through the tourney to win, but if anyone can, he can.
