Best Wheel Cleaner

BR is pH neutral?

yes BR is PH neutral, maybe slightly on the basic side based on smell and texture. It works well have been using on my car since it was new 2 years ago, hasn't damaged anything even the delicate BMW center caps

Is Chemical Guys a love/hate type of deal?

For wheel cleaner, I'm in for Diablo Gel diluted 3 parts water to 1 part Diablo. Sticks to the wheels pretty well, lightly agitate and rinse. Wheels cleaned up alot better than most (Megs, Mothers, Adams, P21s to name a few) of other cleaners I have used.

I'm sorry to read this. What did we do to cause such hate?

I'll stand up for mothers, your guys reflections line spray wax, leather care, etc. are some of my favorite products. Metal polishes are good too! I am a fan of meguiar's polishes and collinite waxes, but I've never really tried any mothers stuff in that line. (Although I don't think you can make me give up my collinite 476s;))

I care more about the product than the brand it came from, mother's by far makes the best smelling stuff and the best looking packaging though IMO

Are you sure? I did a search for Brown Royal Wheel Cleaner MSDS and the following came up:

MSDS

Now, scan through and you won't find the name brown royal but do a search and 'brown royal' is hiding in there, top of the second page and it has been overwritten with 'WCC Wheel Cleaner Concentrate'. It might well be totally co-incidental or some weirdness of my pdf viewer but the description of the product seems to match. Assuming that this is correct, it is certainly not pH neutral. This particular product has sodium metasilicate within. This is not a bad thing and would be one of my main thoughts when trying to avoid sodium hydroxide but it remains that the result is going to be quite alkaline.

Interestingly, this product contains a bactericide which would be unusual for a wheel cleaner.

That is the problem with stupid people and a tiny bit of knowledge - suddenly think they know best but far too stupid to be reasoned with.

I don't see the words brown or royal in there nor do I know what that company is or what that WCC is sorry. The manufacturer is called Flash look them up

i hate anything mothers or megiurs, hows the chemical guys diablo or auto finesse imperial

Diablo is good just not especially strong. Imperial is a superb product. I have always stuck with SONAX Full Effect because it works and it's SAFE. The new Full Effect is 25% stronger. I have not tried it yet.

Stay away from Wheel Brightener or anything else acid based. These are very dangerous products my friend.

Watch this dude spray Wheel Bright all over his hands

•Is it that we Humans find it intrinsically difficult to get a sense of what we don’t know?
•Is it the Human brain’s natural tendency to lie to itself:
To protect its ego?
•Gosh: If only we knew ourselves better.

Car Wheel Detailing and Cleaning - YouTube

I think this video might push Bob over the edge.
{Who me? Never...not even in a million years!!!}

IMO:
People’s inability to assess their own level (lack) of knowledge and expertise may actually be the cause of many of the issues that ails today's Societies.

Will this eventually lead to:
Universal Global Warming Denialism?!?!

Yup, I knew this would push Bob over the edge. How does that jacket fit for ya Bob?

Like I said, you will not see the works. But do a search, probably with the shortcut ctrl-F and google chrome finds the words 'Brown Royal' on the second page, underneath the name of the product.

Like I said, it could be co-incidence but it seems odd that there would be hidden words 'brown royal', on a product which is also a wheel cleaner and which has physical characteristics which fit. If someone had the actual Brown Royal MSDS, then we could be sure but it doesn't seem to be openly available (ahem...) so the above seems the closest thing we have.

BR is a high pH basic wheel cleaner per a post I found on a GM forum from the manufacturer - Flash.

It may work well, but I think I would skip it.

I like Meguiar's DUB wheel cleaner.....excellent at cleaning the wheels similar to Sonax wheel cleaner but does the same job at 1/2 the price

Plus you can get it at Walmart

Fits perfectly with that MSDS, swanicyouth. The whole discussion is exactly what I have been telling people about non-acid wheel cleaners and the crucial part is almost certainly that BR does not contain any caustics. I'd hazard to suggest that it would be that which is the reason for it being safe, more so than any fancy polymers ;)

Please explain the correlation between PH level and "smell and texture".

You must have Spidey Senses
